Famed singer/songwriter Ester Dean is aiming to relaunch her shot at the spotlight with ‘Starships’ performer Nicki Minaj. Most noted for her Chris Brown-assisted single ‘Drop It Low’, now Dean drops ‘Gimme Money’ with Minaj. The ‘independent woman’-esque track is sure to win over fans of Dean’s previous offerings with its catchy hook and Barbie accompaniment. Even in such, Ester is looking for fan feedback to determine if the track will be officially offered via her label Interscope.
Are these the ingredients Dean needs for a hit? Listen and tell us below:
Very reminiscent of Dean’s own penned Rihanna hit ‘What’s My Name’ with the ‘na na nas’ and instrumental accompaniment. Definitely radio friendly and maybe what Miss Dean needs to reignite her own singing career. Stepping from behind the pen is always hit and miss, interestingly, for the craftsmen behind today’s biggest hit.
If Ester’s own star power, even with Minaj’s assistance, is enough to float the song remains to be seen. But we definitely give her props, this is ear candy.

Average. I don’t really care for it, but the simplicity will do good on radio if she plays her cards right.

Sounds like a remake of “I aint thru”. Ester’s voice sounds similar to Keyshia Cole’s. I like this song. It’s cute. Def radio friendly. Maybe nicki will re-gain some of her fans if it gets popular. That starships song totally sucks tho. Leave that crap to kesha! Afterall, she the only one that can pull it off!

Something about her voice in the verses and bridges is a little too rough. The chorus sounds great, but as much as I love what she writes, I’ve never been a fan of her demos…

The song is okay. I like it. Has a 90s feel to it. The premise of this song has been done some many times. For example JLo’s love don’t cost a thing. Good rhyme Nicki however…as usual your rhyme makes no sense compared to the theme of the song. “Give me money give give me money I rather have your time.” If Nicki would of ended it correctly she could of brought it home for Ester. I say keep it for the album as a filler but come harder. Or change the feature.

QUEENSIZE you are a nicki hater/career hater you always set you standard for nicki that she will never reach,so you will forever run on her sh-t with you negative sh-t,if she had ended it right correctly she would have bring it and she should save this song for a filler you say,you are so full of cr-p anyways you are a what you are a f-cking career hater so it,s not like i expected any less from you, just pointing that out.

Ester No stick to penning. After that damn starships song I’m accepting this verse from Nick just base off the fact she sounds normal. Lyrics need to come harder, but this is a lot better then her stuff lately.

I don’t think it’ll do well. She already gave her sound to Rihanna. You can’t get that back.
You’re going to have to be different to stand out in this industry. Sadly, you need to be different from you because we know you but don’t you know already.

If ONE more producer uses that same melody loop thats on the fantom keyboard I’m going to Scream! lol they hit one key over and over and = hit song. Rihanna used it for rude boy, Chris brown for deuces, sean kingston, etc etc etc soo many songs. Is this what creativity in music has come too? a one key hit melody loop and 808 kicks and snares from EQ’d tones. smh
Dear Music Industry,
Its apparent that you think we are idiots. You feed us the same stuff over and over to brainwash us, to keep these awful songs stuck in our heads while we are just working our lives away for little money. Just so we can dream to be able to afford your over priced garbage. & just when we think “ehh its catchy.” we download it for free (the price its worth considering the repetition) and then you press our government to create laws and bills to invade our privacy to make sure you get your money and that your content isnt abused. All the while you complain you’ve been failing, well guess what you’ve been getting over like a fat rat for decades! so boo hoo! STOP BEING GREEDY & worry about quality rather than quantity!
PS. Artists guess what? we’d listen to your song without you stripping next to the mic stand smh
Producers, why is it only 5 of millions of you all that are getting the billboard placements? & not to mention that yall over 40-45y.o. making bubble gum tracks.
& Consumers…why yall not saying anything?! If we demand better, better we shall receive.

I’m not tryin to hear a song that sounds like what’s my name. Like esther are u serious with this?
I don’t get why writers wanna be in the spotlight. They get all the money without the hassle of cameras everywhere.
When people do this I immediately think thirsty for fame. Bish you’re already rich.
If u must put out a record then do something different. Like someone said u gave Rihanna your sound. Hang this up.
This irks my nerves cuz she really is talented but I wish people would stay in their lane.

@MUZIKPRO : I feel you 1000% on this shit here. It seems like these generic era ass artist just continue to think that people wanna hear this see and say shit they produce, then because most people that listen to this shit are young now, they just have this idea that, hey if we make shit pop, the youngins will eat it up!!! I feel so sorry for you kids born in the 90′s!!! I don’t speak for all of you because some of you are blessed to have grown up on real music, but it seems that people in your age group just don’t have anybody that’s current with true talent, or genuine talent for that matter! I been saying the same thing you are speaking about!!!! Until we as a public, stop allowing shit music like this to get a pass, it will continue to be played, till the cows come home!! It’s seems that these producers that make these whack ass tracks, just don’t have any true imagination, nor do they know how to construct a real song for that matter! All you hear is boring ass cell phone ringtone beats from these fools!! People until we demand quality, until we get sick of hearing this shit it will never stop, I feel that it is long overdue for a radio music protest!

comprehension is a major problem in the US. i believe the songs states she would rather have a persons time and don’t need there money bcoz she has her own money and can buy what she wants and even you a drink. she says she would rather have a persons time bcoz she got her own money and she needs there love more than anything. i guess a woman we can’t win for loosing. if we ask a man to bring to table at least the same as we bring to table or expect them to have a job and take care of themselves we become gold diggers. so when we work hard and become independent and state a man cant buy us we still get talked about instead of appreciated for our efforts of working to take care of ourselves, give to charities, and encourage our sisters to do the same and not depend on man as these women do. we will still be talked about as is here. hateraid and haters of our ownselves no wonder why we are outnumber men almost 10 to 1 yet they run the world, pedophiles and domestic abuse are the least punished crimes, and male music that degrades women are bought by women and praised. then we click on a song by a woman misunderstand it and make comments like this. hateraid.
