Rita Ora TGJ11 Preview: Rita Ora Performs On MTV Unplugged

British beauty Rita Ora is set for her U.S. takeover by guesting MTV’s revamped ‘Unplugged’ series.

Joining a long roster of strong female acts like Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, and Alicia Keys, Rita’s run on MTV’s hit acoustic series is set to premiere on Monday, September 17th.

Can’t wait that long?  Well get your first peek of ‘How We Do’ below:

    Also, Why is she on unplugged. She doesen’t even have a U.S career? Jay-Z will promte her anywhere. The audience is nodding along but they dotn even know the word.

    Her singing is good but she isn’t AMAZING, Acoustic versions cn do wonders.

    Everytime I look at baby girl, my face just lights up. I’m so happy that Beyonce approves of her. She’s just so talented and unique. She has this raw authenticity to herself. She’s so humble and poised just like Bey. Despite the extent of hate, she’s really making a name for herself. She will carry Bey’s torch. Love them both #Queens

    lets be honest,rita looks very beautiful in that pic but certainly not 21….i could have sworn that picture was so “INSPIRED” by Mariah’s I STAY IN LOVE video..Anyhow,i still think the seriously heavy promotion she gets from Roc Nation might be her ultimate undoing judging by the fact her songs don’t measure up to all that hype..

    Rita on her next album should just take her own direction..she’s a decent singer but I prefer her singing acoustic versions and ballads..it worked for lana and emeli but she will most likely not but if she releases ‘shine ya light’ it’s going to flop!

    Well, well, well. Looks like Roc nation are scared to release to Ora album on September 25th as they had claimed. THE LP IS GETTING PUSHED BACK CHRISTMAS / WITH NEW TRACKS on it. they scared to go up against Rih who drops very soon , so they want to wait.

    What was the point of going on the Jimmel Kimmel Ryan Seacreat show in sept, if your LP comes out at Christmas? Why wait til Christmas? I thought her talent is amazing? Are they scared that Cher LLoyd ( sold 1.2 million singles in America ) is releasing her debut album on Oct 2?

    They even claim she is making a new album in Dec? Why? There is no date on when this so called album comes out in the rest of the world?

    Rita said she was allowed to have a day off in new york? She has wasted Roc nation money and failed to get a top 40 hit, and she gets a day off? Or is she being summoned to NYC to have a meeting to be informed that she will be dropped?

    Will anyone give a damm about her in December? Do they care now? Did Rihanna have to wait this long to get people to give a fuck about her? Did she have her LP pushed back by THREE MONTHS?

    If she has this so called amazing taLENT, and can sing, why wont they drop her ALBUM on 25 / 09? Why push back by 3 months ?

        Also, Beyonce was never given a UK vogue cover. Rih is only second woman to get UK vogue after naomi campbell in 2002.

        So, Vogue do not recognise Beyonce. Vogue is the biggest fashion magazine – in fact it is the biggest magazine. Bye bye beyonce.

    BTW MTV unplugged is ain’t the ish anymore. MTV does not even play music vidz anymore. The mtv unplugged from 2010 / 2011 had a bunch of no name acts who failed to sell any albums.

    Alicia keys was the last big act that done MTV U and that was in 2005. After that, no one cared anymore, then MTV started all their reality shows.

    This “Kelly” creature is off her pills, I see. Like any abandoned mutt, I imagine every time a car drives down the street, she’s chasing after it — all while spouting some useless Rita rhetoric that no one bothers taking seriously.

    The truth is that you see Rita as a threat to Rihanna. And as well you should. Rita is younger, prettier, has a noticeably better singing voice, is getting set up with the kind of mainstream media coverage that artists more successful than her aren’t, and most significantly is getting preferential treatment from the same team that manages Rihanna. Hell, they even got Rita recording songs originally meant for Rihanna, and that’s in between her covering RIhanna songs on stage — showing everyone just how much better a singer she is than her. Ouch. That’s like a man bringing his mistress home while his wife is away and letting her thumb through his wife’s closet.

    Is that why you’re mad?

    Because Jay-Z, Rihanna’s biggest puppet master, has now turned his company’s time, money and attention to this newer, prettier, perkier, better singing chick, while Rihanna’s latest album struggles sales-wise? Heh. That’s got to be it.

    If you didn’t see Rita as a threat to Rihanna, you wouldn’t post 100 back to back posts about her every fifteen minutes; trying to convince other people to buy into your slant. Hell, you even post this shit in non Rita/Rihanna threads. You are as pressed as a squishy ball and as dumb as a dog’s toy. You make a fool of yourself constantly and never stop looking like an idiot.

    I guess I’d be threatened too, though, if I was a fan of Rihanna’s. We all know that with Rita in the picture, Rihanna ceases to be the princess of the Roc. Meanwhile, Rihanna isn’t smart or savvy enough to be able to leave Roc Nation and still make it on her own, so she’s stuck watching as daddy shower his newest daughter with all the toys and affection he used to give her.       her album was meant to come out on sept 25th, but because she is insecure, threatened by rihanna, bitter jealous that RIH is shining and she is not. Now they are pushing back the LP to Christmas and even that is not confirmed. No date or anything. They are not saying what will happen with this LP. Roc nation have not said WHEN THIS FLOP LP is coming out in America.
