New Song: Cassie – ‘Balcony’ (Ft. Young Jeezy)

‘King of Hearts’ hitmaker Cassie has seemingly tired of her reign over Diddy‘s bedroom and is hoping to move her monarchy back to the top of charts.

Indeed, the model-with-a-mic may have strutted her way to shame with that fateful ‘Me & U’ performance, but the renewed songstress has returned with Rico Love-produced ‘Balcony’ – the second official single from her long ignored awaited second album.

Featuring the vocals of fellow non-singer Young Jeezy, get into all the action below:

Interestingly, the song will guest her second album and forthcoming mixtape ‘Rock-A-Bye Baby’.  And we see why…because this song was Musical Lunesta!

Sounds like a leftover from Jhene Aiko‘s ‘Sailing Souls’.  The song does indeed have promise, but required more of a convincing vocal performance than the model could provide.  If we’ve learned anything, if Miss Venture could barely handle a song she was talking over (see: ‘Me & U’), then anything more vocally demanding (a word used quite loosely), would certainly be a challenge.

It’s ok. It has a drake sound to it. Its one of those songs you listen to late at night whether your laying in bed or driving.

  6. Jay Jay September 11, 2012

I’m impressed with her material so far this year though. Her team needs to get things moving though, king of hearts had a lot of potential

Girl please STOP! When will she get it through her stupid head? Nobody cares about her DAMN MUSIC! Stick to opening your legs and being Diddy’s arm candy because music is not for you boo!

I’m not here for Cassie because i LOVED King of Hearts yet she and her label dropped the ball on it. King of Hearts could have been a smash at least Top 20 but they slept on it and didn’t bother putting any work in it which is a shame because had it been given to Rihanna it woulda been a Top 10 smash. pshh

  12. Mellisa September 12, 2012

It’s ok, but it’s like a copycat of Melanie Fiona’s 4am song! Love Cassie though-gotta give her some props for trying to come out with new s***!

Super late Samantha. If you would get help with your Rihanna obsession, you could be on top of the industry as a whole and not report songs released two weeks ago. Anyway, Cassie keeps releasing singles and none have consistency, like she’s still trying to find “her sound.” KIng of Hearts was a PERFECT sound for her and her vocal abilities. If she marketed the single as an official lead single to her sophomore album (5 years in the making…) and continued to promote it, it could’ve killed!! And had the album have that same dance/house sound, she could’ve really had a winner…for once. Anyway, this song is a NO for me..

  19. the real xoxo September 12, 2012

also, why is she taking so many years to release this album? its not as if she writes her own songs, she is a talentless twat and im glad she is a flop. there are more talented artists flopping.

  20. smize September 12, 2012

  27. Gina Waters September 12, 2012

The only thing I liked about this was the lyrical text video. That is all.

  28. Chet September 12, 2012

Who cares if Cassie whispers? It ain’t nothing new. She puts out way better music than a lot of artist who have more vocal ability than her. Some people just need to shut the f*** up and enjoy the music. She knows she ain’t a Whitney or Mariah but she works with what she has. Bring on that mixtape.
