usher did the damn thing. not the best choreo. throughout. he isnt 23 any more so… but he made up with LIVE VOCALS and the live instruments made all the songs sound much better adding more dimension to the electronic computerized beats. the end with the light show and better choreography showed every1 who usher is, a true entertainer and performer. good dancing and live vocals that were 97% flawless and the offness in climax was not bad, made the song more real and added raw emotion to it. and i like how he changed climax.

carly rae and the wanted did better than i exspected. but they both looked like x factor performances and the wanted looks and sounds like 5 different ppl who can’t dance singing dance songs. only 1 looked like he was having fun really. i wish kesha music video took on this theme of tribe and not just her single cover and live performances.

Taylor swift also did well, vocally, she is the same with every performance, noever great or good, just decent enough, she wasnt as out of tune as normal, but great story telling and theme, she surprised me with the ball room theme and going evil going from the white dress. kelly vocally did well, but was boring. even since u been gone wasnt amazing. she just stood there doing up tempos. i rather her in sweats and no shoes performing than high heels and a dress. but i liked the american idol thing in the begining. kinda cheesy, but not as cheesy as the wanted and carly rae’s performances.

Usher’s problem is that he’s making gay ass dance pop that’s too fast and erratic to dance to. Even at 20, he wouldn’t have been able to keep up with that hyperactive tempo. If he went back to songs like “You Don’t Have to Call,” he would be able to slay the choreography like he used to.

Yep. Usher is playing himself by trying to be trendy. The dance/pop music isn’t his style, he looks and sounds awkward doing it, and is never at his best trying to perform it on stage. And in turn it’s making him look like he’s getting too old to be able to perform like he used to, when in reality it’s more a case of it simply not being the style of which he was bred as a performer; so naturally he’s not going to be at his best trying to do something that isn’t truly “him”.
I really hope once this “era” (if you can call it that) runs its course, he returns to his former self.
My favorites were Linkin Park, Pink, The Gagnum Style guy with MC Hammer, and I liked the Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop part of Usher’s performance. Also, Swizz Beatz and company did a good job, but I was expecting more from Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Christina Aguillera. I expected those ladies to shut it down with the vocals.

Now justin,taylor,and nicki need to have stadium full of seats or grab each others hands and jump off the nearest bridge bcuz I am so sick of them.

The AMAS were better this year than they were last year and the year before that.
Usher—His performance wasn’t bad, it was just those awful song choices! Dance, Electro-Pop, Techno-Pop, is NOT FOR HIM! His voice is too soulful and R&B to do those types of songs, plus, they just sound bad.
No Doubt—loved then in the 90s and early 00s, but they’ve fell off and that single was horrible and Gwen sounded a strained mess.
Taylor Swift—I am amazed at how much her voice has improved. She used to not be able to sing
Kelly Clarkson—boring
Nicki Minaj—nice little performance. Shows that she has substance.
Kesha—used incredible background dancers, lasers, lightening, and props to distract from her horrible voice. Her body is shaped like spongebob squarepants
Christina—looks like a damn stank, fat witch! Christina was always a b****/diva. She was always clowning people and always thought she was the s***. That single was so wack and her performance was awful. LMFAO at the stupid ass stans who really thought she was going to bounce back from her last flop! Dumbasses!
Chris, Luda, Swizz did the damn thing. They had the best performance of the night. They had everyone hyped and I love the song. It’s very urban, but has a nice club, crossover appeal.
I enjoyed the stage set-up for Usher had he delivered as I had expected, he could have had the top performance of the evening. HOWEVER, he sounded winded from the start and looked lathargic throughout. After he won and started to speak I realsized that he might have been a little drunk/high…LOL

Christina had the worst performance of the night. Her vocals were the shittty, she couldn’t even sing her own songs(the backup singers were outsinging her & doing all the high notes).
She always does that, though…live she lets the backup singers do the high notes for “Fighter” and “You lost me”.

Honestly the only performance that really did it for me was Pink. She stole the f****** show to me. It was something different, interesting, entertaining and heartfelt.
Pink NEVER ceases to amaze me with an amazing outstanding performance. Whether it be a fun poppy performance or heartfelt serious one, they are always on point, vocals, energy and all. She is truly underestimated as an artist. I think she’s also a budding icon/legend in the same realms as my Queen Bey and Usher.

Christina looked a hot mess, and her vocals weren’t much better. I don’t have any particular issues with her size in general but she has to stop cramming herself into leotards, makes her look much bigger than she really is. Her hair and makeup sucked as well. Pink rocked and Taylor was better than I expected. Not even lookng at Justin Bieber as I can’t stand the little s***. What a crappy awards show, none of the really big names were there and the winners were, mostly, a joke. Roll on the Grammys ;o)
I’m going to need honey b and gaga back on these award shows. Because as much s*** as people talk about them they slay everybody who performed and then some.

the difference with christina using auto tune is to create an effect to her voice. not to hide the lack of vocal ability or to achieve a more pleasant voice. she used auto tune on bionic too to get a robotic effect/sound to her voice that could not have been achieved natural. and it wasnt a over used autontune

– Usher: apart from not liking him going trendy-pop… what more can u ask from him? He is 35 or so and I think he dances really well, still. He gives his all. And yes that was obviously lipped, at least for the most part. And I find it normal
– Carly Rae: Why did they alow her to perform? She can´t sing and she´s as bland as a performer can get. Never heard a song by that girl anyway
– The Wanted: Never heard a single song from them before. And call me whatever you want but I enjoyed that song. Guilty pleasure I suppose
– Kelly Clarkson: what can i say… at least she can sing and has a few catchy songs. I don´t care about her though
– Ke$ha: her music is crap. The end of the performance was entertaining and she put some effort at least
– No Doubt: I like “Looking Hot” and “Push and Shove”. They are not too good and not too bad live
– Taylor Swift: Sorry she can´t sing and her music is only a little bit better than that Carly Rae girl. I don´t care what American kids and teens think. And I saw her at the end of Usher´s performance thinking “I wish i could perform like that or something”
– Nicki minaj: Don´t care about her. I suppose she did something different for her at least
– Pink: Buff… I don´t know. I know she is a good performer and she can sing. But I can´t care about her. There´s something too generic and repetitive in her music. I suppose nobody thinks she sand live right??? Ok. But yeah she did her thing and she has improved so much with the years with those circus type of performances
– Justin Beiber: I don´t even care if he is improving or not. That voice (lipped of course) and that music are CRAP. Good for him if he´s learning how to dance better but MUSIC comes first. And that is crap
– Xtina: her voice was never a “true great voice” but she is clearly deteriorating. The album should do better than what is doing and I liked the concept of the performance and the intro. But girl, last time you were still doing good (for her standards) was around Bionic era promo
– Pitbull: That´s crap. I don´t care
– Chris and the rest: Great energy. Nothing much to say
– Stevie Wonder: He´s so great and his voice is the same as it was 30 years ago. Not one of my personal faves though
– PSY: that s*** is funny. Nothing else but really funny
Overall I think it was at least entertaining. Probably more than the last couple of years
Now on to bigger and better things with the grammys (I love when they get it right and don´t give Album to Taylor and Song to Single Ladies 🙂 )
