I used to be a huge fan of Christina up until 2006 …… Problem is she comes off like a bitch and a show off she just isn’t like able anymore…..I got tired of waiting years for her to come out with new material and she over sings yes we know you can sing girl but there is no need to scream every note ……I feel that she got way to comfortable and feels that she no longer needs to work for her glory she feels like she can sell on name alone and the only bitch that can do that is Sade ……… She needs to work on winning her fan base back but I doubt she even gives a damn hence why I don’t buy her shit anymore

umm she got too comfertable yetfor bionic she was on the mtv movie awards, performed the national anthem for the nba finals 2 nights in a row, she was on oprah, she was on american idol finally, had a story tellers, on the today show, david letherman, regis n kelly, and early show. she did a behind the music, and an e true hollywood special. she did promote bionci. she did not get lazy, she has the show to do, as well as a child to raise. if she isnt readyy to actually go onto other shows and perform and do a proper promotion and leave la to go to nyc etc, let her wait. just bc an album doesnt sell fast opening week doesnt mean it cant pick up steam.
if she went to all over promoting her album, you all would be saying she is not spending enough time with her contestants and cares about herself and not the ppl on her team etc….

I think when certain artist have already “made it” and been huge in their era period they don’t grind as hard as before.
She hasn’t got the same hustle now and she comfortable.

Even her “Let There Be Love” performance on The Voice, she was jumping around not like she was GENUINELY having fun, but like she was ACTING like she was having fun… and it showed
Nowadays her (few) performances are all trying to appear serious/strong/etc… not really appearing strong and carefree from WITHIN, like she did before, during “Stripped” and “Back to Basics”
So that’s why also I and other people aren’t connecting as much. It seems her heart & head is truly somewhere else right now

it would be hard to really be having fun when her album just tanked at 73,000. until then she always looked as if she was truly having a good time whether she was performing or interacting with the contestants.
if an artist’s previous album flops they definitely need to amp up their hustle next time around. if christina doesn’t really care about her sells why is she looking so whipped since her album sales came out?

And I also agree with the girl who said she has too much ‘diva attitude’ a lot of the time and that makes her a bit unlikeable
I actually saw this video of her behind the scenes between breaks on ‘The Voice’, where she’s just being herself and messing around, she’s actually a whole lot more fun and relaxed – but when the cameras are on, she gets this very defensive and pseudo-’expert’ posture of “look at me and what i’m talking about, this is very serious”, and comes off as a bit distant. She should just be herself on camera as well, and people would like her, instead of acting like a distant diva

And no it isn’t easy to sing what she sang the other day, she has smooth transitions with her notes and her whistle register/ head voice and her lower register was great too.

Mariah’s voice may not be as good as it used to be in the 90s, but she was great during the Emancipation era and her second Christmas album in 2010 was great too and she was by one way lipping those eras. Last night is a great example of great vocals without lipping. Are you trying to imply that Mariah can no longer sing and if she does sound good its because of lipping? Wow, pressed much? She is not good at lipping so you can tell when she lips or not.

I’ve seen several performances of MC from 2001 to now. She was a hit or miss since then. IT was either dodging high notes and singing in a mid range more comfortable. And when she was able to sing in connected registers without breaking, they were usually prerecorded and it’s not just MC. Lots of singers have pre recorded vocals that sound better. And I never said last night’s performance was bad. All I said it wasn’t impressive IMO for a woman with 5 octaves because she has gone higher. So yes you can say it was “safe” in a way *in my Simon voice*

You much not have seen them all clearly, because this is a false statement in its own category. Go watch Mimi’s rendition of “You and I” where her rich, lower register is crisp and her head voice is very much in tact as well as her performance on the Grammy 2006 (perfect performance from head to toe from her flawless mid-rage to head notes) and her GMA performance in 2001 was great too. Clearly you have not watched as much as you think to say so.

What are you talking about? Those pictures are form the past month of November. For Christina it was for the announcement of AMA performance and for Mariah it was the Nick Halo awards so yes, they are recent. And I am not trying to say that Mariah is skinny (she isn’t) but you need to accept that Christina is fatter (just look at her face and her stomach). From the Christmas performance the only thing big about Mariah was her boobs (and her hips) not her face or stomach.

“the gaga thing” was just a part of the crushing christina took during the ‘bionic/gaga era. first of all during christina’s ‘keeps gettin’ better’ tv performance, even before anyone even knew what a gaga was, the media started sh!t by accusing christina of ripping gaga off. they never once pointed to the ways that gaga was jacking christina’s look. the media dramatized christina dissing gaga repeatedly. they also dug up stone cold riffs with mariah and mary j. blige. they labeled her a diva with a nasty attitude and a the bitch of the music industry. when ‘bionic’ crashed they called her a flop. when her movie ‘burlesque’ was released they lied and claimed it was also a flop. still to this day they call it a flop even though the cost to make it was only $55m and it’s grossed $170m ww. the soundtrack did well but has never been reported. she gave an outstanding aretha franklin tribute with loud ovations but all they talked about was that she lost her balance on stage. she flubbed a line during ‘the star spangled banner’ but no one pointed out how she kept her poise. the media lied that she was arrested for public intoxication. she was not charged with anything.she got a star on the walk of fame…no media attention. she made tv appearances for humanitarian efforts no media. her feature with maroon 5 mlj is one of the largest selling singles of all time…no press.
she was consistently hammered by negativity or simply ignored. it’s hard to overcome when a totally negative image has been created and it’s never followed up with anything positive to say.
nothing sticks like a total onslaught of malicious media hate. others have gotten bad press but there was always some good press to counter it.

The fact that she has proclaimed herself to be this amazing vocalist she never truly lived up to be, as her vocals started deteriorating way before she reached a vocal prime, and that her stans aggressively bullied the fans of other artists has contributed to the general dislike people have for Christina nowadays.

To everybody who claims Christina has the best voice of our generation, please check out Beyonce’s runs in “I Care” and the ever higher range in “Love on top”. Could Christina pull those off? Hell to the no.
Also, check out other contemporary girls around the world who complete annihilate her.
Vanessa Amorosi from Australia, the bitch can sing a B2 like a dude and belt out C6 like it’s nothing.
So Hyang from Korea, she has a gorgeous voice and amazing upper belting and head voice range.
Monica Naranjo from Spain, she has an amazing chamaleonic tone, powerful belting that reminds of Aretha/Patti Labelle, and a solid belting range up to C6 as well as whistle register to Eb7

Resonance just means that a note/pitch vibrates with amplification of the hollow spaces in the skull, and truly of the whole body. Take someone like Whitney in her prime, that’s plenty resonant voice, also Barbra Streisand or Lara Fabian.
Through the resonance (and not just volume) is how opera singers project over an orchestra without microphones, as those resonators amplify a particular frequency around 3,500 hz which our ears are more sensitive to.

Then why would Rihanna’s single “DIamonds” be co-written by Sia who worked with Xtina two years ago for her Bionic album and for “Bound to You” on the Burlesque soundtrack.
