Nelly Furtado is redefining the word with her latest album ‘The Spirit Indestructible’. For, despite tanking terribly on the few charts it managed to appear on, the LP has spawned a whopping five singles. ‘Bucket List’ is the latest and saw its accompanying video unveiled today.
Check it out after the jump…
Unlikely to revive the project (which was pretty much dead on conception), the track’s release really ups our respect for Furtado. After all, it’s almost certain that she’s funding the roll-out of these singles herself; something artists in both similar and better positions could and should be doing too – if indeed as passionate about their careers as they claim. Success, more often than not, rests in the art of the hustle and Nelly is hustling.
The music may mostly be nasal nonsense, yet by rolling out an army of videos Furtado is extending the project’s life-cycle (visually, in the absence of radio play and TV appearances). As such, the songbird is already righting the wrongs which partially put her in this predicament in the first place (see: staying out of the limelight too long).
Should she continue along this path, pair with the right producers, and enlist a talented vocal coach (to help her sing from her mouth and not her nose), she could be poised for chart redemption. Fingers crossed!

I give her props for still sticking with her music, but she has too soon realise that her time is up :/

You can’t still have a career without selling your creative soul for radio attention.

Like this song so much. I expected that Waiting for Tonight will do something for the album but :/
Good job Nelly!
Anyaway, the part with fireworks reminds me of Only Girl from Rihanna where at the end of video she jumps surrounded by fireworks.

STFU, Negro!
Xtina is the most re-inventive artist of our time
BOTH musically and imagery ..
A RISK TAKER .. A REAL ARTIST
Her voice can do ANYTHING!!
That why she is so experimental and unique
She goes from POP/ROCK to R&B/Hiphop
From Blues and Jazz to Electro/Dance
Not like your miserable fav who sit on her black ass
waiting for her pimp to bring her hit songs
YOU WANT IT .. GET IT, HOE
