tbh I think this might be her best album ever!
Love it. I can’t lie I was skeptical of pre-ordering this but now I’m satisfied. I even already have my favorites. This album has a lil mixture but it’s mainly R&B & I mean real R&B which we haven’t heard in some time. The ppl who have negative things to say about this album are the typical haters who have always wanted to see her fail. But I truly feel she brought it with this album. Bravo. Definitely will be debuting in the top 3 on Billboard’s 200.

I know what I like right away and to be completely honest only 2 songs really sound promising. From what I heard so far ‘Street Life’ has a decent verse, but I don’t care for the hook. ‘Talk a Good Game’ sounds like the best song on the album (besides #1 and ‘Kisses’). These songs overall come across very average, which doesn’t match the fire Kel has in her image lately.

From featuring on a s*** load of other ppls songs,videos,hosting, killing the red carpet, presenting at award shows,performing at the superbowl and much more. She deserves all the success this era. Y’all lame asses need to quit hating and give her her credit when its due. Kelly is bringing it. Quit being all up pop bubble gum artist like rihanna,nicki,britney,and taylor swifts asses to were u can’t recognize real talent and hard work coming from an artist like kelly. She has come into her own.
The songs are HOT because the album is FIRE!!! Anyone who says otherwise and can’t give a LEGITIMATE reason why they think otherwise is a HATER. This woman’s growth as an artist is undeniable. You can clearly hear that this is her most confident, most creative most vocally astounding project to date, and that is saying a lot because ALL of Kelly’s albums are great in their own way. This album though; this album marks the ARRIVAL of Kelly Rowland….and she’s here to STAY!! So you hatemongers must DEAL.

the depth of Simply Deep, the R&B undertones of Ms Kelly, the sensuality of Here I Am, and voila – Talk A Good Game!!!!!! I personally liked what I have heard and have heard some cuts in whole and I am impressed with her growth as an artist. It’s definitely as album for the marture audiences and isn’t filled with shallow radio food but real r&b with Ms Kelly really singing and using her voice. I can’t wait to cop it on 6/18. Work mama!

I think it sounds like a nice album. She could have left out ‘Freak’ in my opinion though. I think ‘Gone’ should have been a lead single or should have come out after ‘Kisses Down Low’ peaked. I like ‘Street Life’ the most but I think ‘Gone’ has the most potential to be a hit if it is marketed right. Most of the songs strike me as nice R&B songs to listen to but nothing really grabbed me enough to make me think it will end up being a song that I hear and say, “that’s my song” and to be honest, many artists have made that list at one point or another but Kelly has not done so thus far.

Okay so I’m still ready to hear this album. After listening to the snippets it only made me anxious to hear the full songs. Freak is the only song I’m skeptical about hearing because Jamie Foxx recorded the same song and its on his Best Night Of My Life album which was written & produced by Rico Love. Other than that this sounds like it will be a good R&B album. But I’m waiting until I hear the full album before I give my final thoughts.
Not feeling it! I have all of Kelly’s albums but this is not it! All the songs/vocal arrangements sound the same and nothing stands out to be singles. After the Fantasia and Brandy albums i thought she was going to come hard, but i guess she’d better go home. I’m going to go and create a best of Kelly playlist

It sounds like an ok album. It will sell more than Ciara to be honest.
Kelly. Grrrl. You still can’t get it together. This album sounds like straight 2007 with a little better production. “Red Wine,” “This is Love,” “Stand in Front of Me” sound hott tho. The only standout tracks from first listen. Not the best songs being on the second half of the album. The problem is the first half of the album has no umph. Also DEATH at paying “Ice” complete dust.

FREAK: This song seems to pay homage to early funk and r&b. Music sans groups like Parliament,Yarbrough & Peoples and Sister Sledge. It’s also reminiscent of a few early Prince records. With that being said, I LOVE IT! It’s a psychadellic banger.
We all know KISSES DOWN LOW. Cool concept. Cool production. Cool chorus. I guess it’s a cool song; especially if you’re into that sort of thing. I’m not yet married so I’m not yet getting kissed down low, but hey, if Kelly wants to let her “Freak” flag fly this song is the perfect way to do it; even if it is TMI.
GONE: A Banger! The production, the vocals, Wiz Kalifah’s verse; it all go’s HARD. Definitely one of my favorites (I’ve heard the full song). I love the fact that she samples a Joni Mitchell classic, following in the footsteps of one of her biggest inspirations; Ms.Jackson of course.
TALK A GOOD GAME GAME: I think I’m really going to like this one. Probably one of the best lyrical efforts on the album. Kelly’s voice is lush on this track. Her smooth, effortless vocal delivery compliments the groove inducing beat very well. I can’t wait to here this one in it’s entirety.
DOWN ON LOVE: Very reminiscent of late 80’s/early 90’s R&B. I would have to here the entire song in order to determine whether or not I love this one. Smooth production and vocal delivery, but the song seems a bit too typical for my taste. Guess I’ll find out for sure on June 18th.
DIRTY LAUNDRY: An extremely personal, extremely vulnerable narrative. A career defining song. I can’t wait to see the video for this master piece.
YOU CHANGED: Kelly BLOWS on this song. Even though she is once again sharing a platform with Bey and Michelle, she takes center stage and relegates the other two to background duty. All three girls get there moment to vocally shine, but this time, on this song it is Kelly who shines the brightest.
I REMEMBER: I’ve heard this song in it’s entirety and I must say, it’s pretty good. Kelly channels the HELL out of her BFF Brandy. This may seem like a bad thing to some people but I for one think it’s a cool thing that Kelly can at times sound so similar to Brandy without losing her own vocal stamp, which is strategically placed all over this song. It’s Kelly channeling Brandy, not Kelly imitating Brandy. She does manage to make this very Brandy-esque track her own, and I love her for that.
Red Wine: I LOVE THIS!!! I can not wait to here the full song. It’s so mellow and melodic. The song has a sophistication that most folk over 25 can appreciate. Basically, what I’m saying is, if you’re a youngin’, this aint for you; but if you’re grown and s***, this will be your jam.
THIS IS LOVE: A power ballad of epic proportion. It’s just not a Kelly Rowland album without the Power Ballad (i.e. “Beyond Imagination”, “This is Love”[Ms.Kelly], “Heaven and Earth”, “Love Again”, etc.)
STREET LIFE: Another Banger, naturally since Pharell produced it. Also another favorite. Raising awareness about ‘world mentality’ and the state of our economy, this is the most lyrically set apart song on the album. A STAND OUT.
STAND IN FRONT OF ME: Such a cute song. Kelly goes all the way back to the ‘shoo-wop shoo-wop’ era with this 60’s inspired slow groove.
SKYWALKER: The only song I do not like. Kelly, let the dream produce your songs, not sing on them.
PUT YOUR NAME ON IT: Straight R&B, no chaser. The snippet left me wanting more. Can’t wait to hear it all.
#1: Such a crafty little song. The last of the three songs to be featured on the Deluxe Edition. This one and “Put Your Name On It” make that extra 2-3 dollars more than worth it. In an age where albums are only 10-12 songs long, it’s nice to have an R&B album that contains 15 songs and they’re all good songs (give or take one or two).
Over all- This album is a 9 out of 10 stars. I did not give the album a perfect score for two reasons: 1)I am NOT feeling the “Skywalker” snippet. Maybe my opinion will change once I hear the whole song, but as it stands now, that song is a NO.
2)I don’t know if I like the order of the songs on the album. I feel they could have been a bit more conceptual in this area. I heard “Gone”. The song ends with what appears to be a segue-way into “You Changed” so why is “Talk a Good Game” after “Gone”? I also feel that “Dirty Laundry” should follow “TAGG”.
This is just my pre-review of the album. This could all change come June 18th. This album however will be the pinnacle of Kelly’s career. Sassy, s***, self-reflecting and sincere are the words I would use to describe Kelly’s new album. An album that appears to be her best effort yet.
