For, while the bulk of his commercial success lies in the support he’s garnered from Pop loyalists, it’s his Urban credibility the performer seems eager to protect today, now that his ‘wins’ have become synonymous with Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘MAAD City’ losses.

I like Macklemore. Unlike others who don’t bother to give him a chance just cause of the color of his skin. Pi think he’s come from far,but in all honesty,as much as I loved his album,Kendrick was robbed. He deserved to win. And it was a bit transparent for him to post private texts for all the world to see. Overall,the whole show was a mess. But what else can you expect from an award show in 2014
I respect him for knowing he didn’t deserve it and knowing how shady the industry is but im sick of people hating on this dude he’s one of the few rappers who actually can rap about other things besides b****** money cars and h***. i think the problem is the voting criteria. i think grammy voters don’t always vote based on the merit of the material. i think macklemore won because he’s more likable. kendrick lamar comes off like he thinks he deserves the awards which in turn makes people reluctant to award him. i agree, kendricks album is way better. its a shame that personality seems to be part of the voting criteria.

Like I said in the previous post, Macklemore is a great hip-pop artist. His album is pretty decent and fun. Should he have gotten Best Rap Album? No. GKMC is a hip hop classic in the making. The way Kendrick crafted it was genius. I also thought Fantasia was robbed. Some unknown person beat her. She released one of the best R&B albums last year. 🙁

@RICHIE I love beyonce and all but this wasn’t a great performance from her and I think she even knew cause she was over it last night you can see it in her face…. i think she should of did was took us thru a musical journey with all her hit with JAY-Z starting with 03 Bonnie and Cylde, then Crazy in Love, Deja Vu, Upgrade U, Hollywood, On the Run and then ended with Drunk In Love… That would of been EPIC TO ME cause it show the amount of Hits theses two had together as a Power Couple… But this was one of her not so good performance… I love all her other especially DEJA vU at the 2006 BET AWARDS…. but I will give her this she was probably about the fourth best performance of the night… Kendrick and Imagine Dragon first, the Macklemore, then Draft Punk and then Beyonce and after her John Legend

If the Nielsen Company’s fast national rating holds up when a more complete report is issued later Monday, that would be a slight increase over last year’s 28.4 million viewers and the second-biggest Grammy audience since 1993.

I was thinking as I watching that she didn’t look properly focused like usual and even over it. She only started to enjoy it once Jay came out. It wasn’t the best but I would expect them to hate it, they hate every celebrity who doesn’t vote Republican in the US (aka 99.5% of Hollywood) and they want America to go back to 1953. Just look at any popular post on Yahoo! News. It’s trash. I’m happy there aren’t as many of them here.
But other than that I agree, I was looking at the ratings on TVByTheNumbers and a few other sites and they were calling the Grammys boring and saying they don’t have much credibility anymore. The general public are finally coming to their senses. It’ll remain the most credible award for music but it will never be on the level of the Oscars. But it’s what the industry has for right now.

I waited this long to comment, cos i live in Europe and the show just aired tonight here. I wanted to watch it on a big HD screen before passing my judgement. I watched that performance more than twice, and i wondered why people said she was lip syncing when you could clearly hear her breath loud and clear and resonance thru the mic. Like someone said in a comment on another blog ‘she recorded her breath sounds and inserted them to make it look like she was singing’, like wtf. Even the 3.06 min mark, she had stopped singing before she removed he mic from her mouth and returned it in a split, as in a split of split second. She was clearly not lip syncing. People want Beyonce, even Rihanna and other black people to fail soo bad it’s actually sickening, and its mostly black people, smh. They pit these artists against one another. Black people put each other down so much, but when it becomes a trend and other races join in we cry racism. It’s already happening, look at what they did to us, Kendrick L and others. I digress.
