There’s no doubt about it, 2014 will see the release of a brand new Madonna album.
However, while the world may have already predicted this would be the case last year, it may not be aware of the new details that are emerging pertaining its sound and how its release will mark one of the last dealings she’ll have with Live Nation, under the contract she is presently tied to!

After the release of 2012’s ‘MDNA’, Madonna now stands just two more albums and two more tours away from bidding adieu to her current arrangement with ‘Live Nation‘, and-according to numerous reports- has until 2017 to fulfil said obligations.
So, with only three years left to make the above happen, the icon has now hit the studio to create her latest LP and has already birthed eight original songs set to feature on the forthcoming disk. This, months after a 2013 ‘Reddit’ session saw her share her desire to collaborate with ‘French house’ manufacturers, Daft Punk.

You basics still don’t get it!!!! Madge isn’t releasing new albums for sales, It’s all about having fresh material to serve her loyal fans while touring and honor her contract with Live Nation.
She has nothing to prove at this point… No other female artist makes $300-400M off their tours. They would have to so like Beyonce and tour for 2 – 3 years to have combined gross to attain those numbers.

After Erotica/Bedtime Stories – everyone though she’d never be able to reach her 80s peak again. She returned with arguably the best album of her career – Ray Of Light.
After American Life – everyone was saying she was ‘done’ an should ‘retire’ similarly to the comments above. Instead, she returned with the hugely successful COAD.
She definitely has at least one big hit album left.
And MDNA was great – but Girl Gone Wild was the dumbest single choice of her career.
Celine can make $300 to $400m on tour. If Madge didn’t have anything to prove, she wouldn’t have bundled her concert tickets with first week album sales and she would have avoided the whole Lady Gaga mess.
Madonna still wants to sell millions of records like every other artist.
Madonna’s far from original, but what I will say about her is that she has invented one of the most over-used strategies in all of Pop music history to stay relevant. She’s one of the only stars whose music is secondary to the hoopla that she stirs up surrounding it. So I expect to see Madonna find a controversial new angle to sell her music with this next project — it never fails. I’ll give her credit for having some artistic talents to back it up.
Musically she’s not very consistent, but when Madonna gets it right she is on top of her game. She’s still praised to the heavens though when she’s not delivering (her flop eras aren’t magnified like other divas and it often goes unnoticed). I do honestly think it’s time for Madonna to retire after these last 2 albums. That sounds harsh, but it feels like she’s been making the same album since Hard Candy (with bits and pieces of ROL and Confessions…).

It was Live Nation/Universal’s and even Madonna can’t always beat down her record company. She had a fight with Warner over Ray of Light. She wanted to release the title track first but they had final say over Frozen!! Jus sayin’.

Celine’s “A New Day..” Casino Stay did $390 milions during more than 5 years (2003 – 2007) and 700 concerts with a 3 million people audience and 70% of the concerts sold out. During this “tour” Celine did more concerts than Madonna all tours combined during her 32 years in business !!! But as it’s a one venue tour it isn’t considered a propel tour.
Celine did better in 2008/2009 with “Taking Chances Tour” 132 concerts that grossed 270$ millions in only 1 year. Even though it’s good it did 2.05 million per concert.
Madonna’s “Sticky and Sweet” tour was during 1 year (23 August 2008 to 02 September 2009) and did 408$ millions with only 85 concerts for 3.5 million fans (100% concerts sold out). After she did concerts during 4 months in 2008 she got to $282 millions and was already the #01 tour for a solo artist and the best grossing tour for 2008. The concerts during 2009 were a second leg doing some of the locations again and a few new cities during 2 months (04 July to 02 September) made it the #02 tour for the decade. She was able to do $4.8 millions per concert on average!
And Madonna’s “MDNA” tour did $305 milions in 6 months and a few days with 88 concerts, and 100% of the concerts were sold out. She still managed to do $3.5 millions per concert. Of course it was the best grossing tour for 2012.
Got the picture now? Even Celine Dion doesn’t come close. Beyonce is doing $1.8 million on average from her current tour so not that far from Celine numbers. If she can put on a few more dates she will pass Celine Tour with ease… but to pass Madonna she will need to do at least 230 concerts grossing that kind of money on average.
By the way, Madonna got 3 awards at Billboard Awards 2013 that are based on 2012 sales and results:
– Best Grossing Tour “MDNA Tour”
– Best Dance Album “MDNA”
– Best Dance Artist (based on sales, airplay and club plays)
