This is what happens when mediocre NY musicians take the stage. They need shock value in order to make up for how terrible they are musically. Lady Gaga is too self-conscious and serious to be fun, and there are too many half baked ideas thrown together for it to make sense. Her songs with some glossy production, marketing and given titles that the songs themselves don’t live up to. When she 1st started she was kind of interesting. Now she is more delusional tacky, misguided and cheap. Kind of ‘I am cool’ / ‘look at me’ buy my records. I wouldn’t pay a nickel to see her or buy her music.

Madonna is great, but her first 5 albums weren´t artistically genious. The first great thing she did was Like a Prayer album, not her first, and then a couple more, which are the ones who most of the world will always asociate with Madonna. But her true artistic growth came with Ray of Light in 1998 and what came after that. No critic took her seriously till then. You people forget everything so easily. Or just don´t know a damn thing. Gaga has a few songs on her two first albums which are better than Madonna´s songs in her first two albums (not to mention she can sing and is a real songwriter).

If charting in the 150s of the Billboard 200 after less than 20 weeks is the GP getting back into her again, I guess so.
It´s hilarious seeing people trying to give advise. It´s like when Sam does it or makes predictions and then he´s always wrong. “Donatella” wouldn´t have been a good single. Some of you may like the song, but it´s not for radio. Not many songs on Artpop are (even if they are good), that´s the problem. G.U.Y. is not among the best on the album, but it´s among the most commercial ones. As the true artist she is Gaga had an album in mind, not singles, so when all was done, there were no clear singles to be released, and she was needing a hit for this era, it was time. It didn´t happen except for Applause strong top10 chart journey (but still no big hit enough) so the whole thing didn´t go too well.
But people need to move on and let these girls be.
