Far removed from the smoke’n’mirrors oft used to sell singles released by many a Pop puppet, John Legend soars above with his US smash hit single ‘All of Me‘, which has reached a milestone we doubt even he saw coming.
Sleeper hit “slayage” below…
After spending 18 weeks in the UK Top Ten this year, Legend’s ‘Me’ has now reached the 1 million mark in the United Kingdom this week!
An official release celebrating the news explains:
The single, released on Columbia Records in the UK, reached the landmark last week, having been downloaded 804,500 times and been streamed over 21.1 million times since release (equivalent to 211,082 downloads), according to Official Charts Company data. The combined sales performance of 1,015,582 makes ‘All Of Me’ Legend’s most popular single to date in the UK where it has Platinum Single status already. It is the first single to reach the million sales mark since the Official Single Chart rules changed its criteria to include audio streams in July of this year.* It is also the third biggest selling single in the UK this year.
Released on August 12th 2013, the number came courtesy of the singer’s latest studio album ‘Love in the Future’, which now sits at the 589,000 mark in the United States alone!
I’m so happy for all his success!
So glad he could go gold in the USA. If it weren´t for the unexpected success of All of Me it woulnd´t have happened (which would have been unfair). He´s among the ones who deserve success.
Congratulations John!! He deserves 100% plus more of his success!
What kind of undercover slayage?
Congrats!
