Album Stream: John Legend – ‘A Legendary Christmas’

Published: Thursday 25th Oct 2018 by Sam

John Legend easily serves as one of modern music’s most versatile talents and it’s a trait he showcases in earnest on new album ‘A Legendary Christmas.’

The holiday collection is the crooner’s first and sees him put his butter-smooth spin on several Christmas classics, while also conjuring a number of all-new tunes.

Executive produced by Raphael Saadiq, the LP features appearances from Stevie Wonder and Esperanza Spalding. The set is also being paired with a like-titled tour.

Random much but I hope Mariah performs Miss You Most at Christmas Time with a jazzy feel or straight piano playing. Love AIW4C but Miss You literally gets me in my feels for good reasons

She has only sang Miss You Much at Christmas time once – 20 years ago and it was not Live. Something about this song she avoids ever singing it. She knows the Fans want this song live, like Faded or Prisioner and Mine Again, and she ignores it

I believe there was an interview in the past where she actually bashed this particular Christmas song. It was one of those songs she feels she was forced to write and sing (similar to Hero), and she never fell in love with the song for HERSELF, so that’s primarily why she doesn’t care to sing it following her post-Butterfly era independence.

It really is a beautiful song, though.
