With social media still buzzing about last night’a American Music Awards, so too are a number of the night’s performers.

Namely Fergie and Jennifer Lopez.

Find out why below…

Currently on the comeback trail with new single ‘L.A Love (La La)’, Fergie-Ferg saw her DJ Mustard jam leap up the iTunes tally from the mid 30’s to its current spot of #14.

The rise highlights the strength of the singer’s slow and steady approach to her return.

Away from the scene for almost seven years as a solo artist, the Black Eyed Peas front-woman has paced out the track’s roll-out – debuting it a radio in September, premiering its video this month, and offering the first live showing last night. The practice appears to have paid off.

Elsewhere, J.Lo’s bodacious ‘Booty (ft. Iggy Azalea)’ has rebounded from sitting outside the Top 100 to #70 where it resides as at typing. With the Chris Brown penned cut having peaked at #18 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October, could its digital resurgence mean a new peak is nigh? Time will tell.

For now, we can’t but salute two great talents who are enjoying success with two great songs!

Werk!

Last night’s AMAs was beyond boring. It’s such a low-key show without Beyonce, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Drake, Chris Brown, or even Lady Gaga. The biggest name was Taylor Swift, and she’s not exactly a performer.
    .
Fergie and JLo were the only highlights, to be fair, and they deserve to gain a bit on itunes.
    .
Nicki Minaj’s performance, and song, were both good but not AMAs-worthy. Skylar stole her spotlight.
Taylor Swift continues to play on her demographic, great visuals, but not the best show opener.
Lorde shouldn’t have been given a time slot.
Ariana Grande’s was unforgettable, but she’s improving.
Lil Wayne and Christina Millian should both be fined for having the guts to rehearse on live TV.
Mary J Blige’s performance was more apt for the Grammy’s than the AMAs.
Iggy Azalea is this year’s it-girl so her appearance was expected.
The rest, I don’t know them.

Fergie had one of the most note worthy performances of the night as did Jen so it’s well deserved.

Congratulations to both, but AKA had way better songs on the album that could have hits. She gave a great performance though.
