The fourth quarter continues heat up.
Hip-Hop force J. Cole is the latest to throw his name into the melee of major releases slated for to hit stores before the year’s end. For, the Roc Nation star has not only announced his third album, ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive’, he revealed that it’ll be hitting stores in just two weeks time.
Per Cole, the LP will land at retail on December 9th.
He introduced the project’s inspiration in a new trailer…
Interestingly, the LP – which follow’s 2013’s ‘Born Sinner’ – will arrive on the same day as Lil Wayne‘s ‘Tha Cater V’.
It’ll mark the second time Cole has deliberately scheduled his project to go head-on with another rapper. The first, last year, saw him drop ‘Born’ on the same day as Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’. On that occasion, West bested him and he came out at #2 with solid sales of 270,000. The set would ascend to #1 two weeks later.
Needless to say, we can’t wait to see how this plays out.

No Kendrick is overrated IMO. J.cole slays him effortlessly.

Will be buying. His fist album was ok, but his last one was really good, I couldn’t even give Jay Z’s a listen, because Cole was talking about real ish. Plus he’s smart, do drops album along with BIG name rappers to make it a battle, sure he’ll sell less, but those sales will be way higher than a date by himself. Something Uggly tried to do, but Nicki ran.
I agree. His last album was hot. And, I don’t even really like Hip Hop. But, his tone of voice is s*** as hell. His flow & lyrics are VERY good.
