That didn’t take long.

Moments after Iggy Azalea sunk her claws into Azealia Banks following the latter’s less-than-endorsing comments about her on Hot 97 last night, Banks has responded.

    GO AZEALIA!!!!!

    • Cupid December 19, 2014

IGGY truly did read azelia’s whole chapter! She deserved it. Furthermore if her problem is with media itself then why constantly attack Iggy specifically?

      • Beysus December 19, 2014

        Because she’s crap…

      • Cupid December 19, 2014

@Beysus but what is Iggy rapping about that’s different from what any other chick is rapping about. If a black chick was winning with crappy lyrics and a rapping accent no one would have anything to say. The white girl is winning for now. Get over it!

      • Beysus December 19, 2014

She won’t be winning for much longer…

    • Kitty Puurrzz December 19, 2014

You people are so ignorant .

      • Beysus December 19, 2014

        STFU

    • Toohotfortv December 19, 2014

Its not about her lyrics or her accent or the way she dresses or anything of that trivial nature. What its about is the system of racism and the culture of appropriation as well as the idea that when everything is seemingly taken from black Americans they go and create something new and of their own experience and that that is inevitably co-opted leaving us in a perpetual state of anxiety bc its never ending and its never enough. Azealias issue wasn’t particularly with iggy as a person, its what she represents for black America. If iggy can’t understand that, then she doesn’t really have a place in hip hop. At the bare minimum, an acknowledgement of the systems that are in place that make it easier for her to succeed (and allow her to be lauded as a rap queen)should be acknowledged and checked. But that won’t happen bc either iggy is ignorant (and at this point of game, I can’t imagine that) or she just doesn’t give a f*** about the culture; and that’s problematic.

      • Cupid December 19, 2014

Ahh please. I get exactly what you’re saying but that’s out of anyone’s hands. It just “is”. Iggy shows love to EVERYONE. I’m just saying that she’s not the reason for our (african American) short comings. There’s no reason for any rapper to keep attacking her. Every race that chooses to do what our ancestors brought to the table isn’t suppose to just kiss the ground we stand on. I don’t feel iggy is ignorant, she faced with a mass of critism because she happens to be the “white rap chick on top”. That’s all I’m saying

      • Cupid December 19, 2014

Furthermore we have to blame ourselves before pointing the finger. Urban artist could be winning but our community, which makes up most of their listeners, don’t buy much music.

  2. Amina Perry December 19, 2014

Iggy is so selfish! She really thought Azealia was crying over her? She clearly didn’t watch the interview.

  3. J.E December 19, 2014

I would choose azelia over this bully.

  4. Nick Jonas (King of R&B) December 19, 2014

All jokes aside, did Iggy watch the interview because Azealia wasn’t crying about her.

    • Toohotfortv December 19, 2014

She probably doesn’t care. I just have to say, I really hope your screen name is satire or irony or sarcasm or something. . .

  5. eugenia December 19, 2014

I love her and she took up for nicki weeks ago she trying but iggy aint no body crying over u boo i hope banks get bigger flow is sick iggy responds to much but yet say she dont care i wish all could get along

  6. Jimmy December 19, 2014

Guys did you read Iggy’s response she doesn’t say she was crying over her personally

    • Toohotfortv December 19, 2014

It was implicit in the fact that she even responded. Reading comprehension, sweetheart.

  7. Hahaha December 19, 2014

People are just confused that Azealia did an interview that wasn’t about a PR celebrity relationship, gossip or b*******.
J Cole and Azealia are saying the same thing really.

  8. BeyRihLiyah December 19, 2014

go in Azealia lmaoooo uggly needs to get over herself azealia wasn’t crying over her

  9. Mark111 December 19, 2014

Uggly only responded because 1) she have tickets to sell. 2) After trying endlessly, Nicki won’t acknowledge her for Uggly to do step 1.

  10. BeyxMaraj December 19, 2014

That h** Uggly needs to shutt her trap up. I’ve had enough of her crying on twitter and she’s claiming to be a bigger starr.

  11. Daniel Lavigne December 19, 2014

Iggy can’t see what Azealia is saying because Iggy is from Australia, white privilege isn’t even a thing there. They treat the Aboriginals however they want and nobody says a damn thing.
    I’m Greek by the way.

    • MisdamenorFan December 19, 2014

Um, as someone that has been to Australia several times and was in a 5 year relationship with an Aussie. White privileged is a thing. Aboriginals are the blacks of Australia.

  12. OMG Logic!!! December 19, 2014

Looks like the bitter crybaby can’t handle a dose of reality. B**** accept that you’re your own worst enemy and the reason why you’ve failed in the music industry. Nothing but your mouth and fingers have held you back from succeeding.
African Americans need to stop blaming the “system” for their failures. I’ve never seen Oprah crying about how unfair she had it. She simply worked her a$$ off and succeeded without trash talking any White competition she had on her way to the top. Look at Beyonce and the Camel, same thing. Focus on yourself not on those who are also working for their success.

    • Anita December 19, 2014

Oh dear. You never hear Oprah complain? You obviously don’t know Oprah’s story if you don’t think she speaks openly about the racism she’s faced as a black woman. I know it’s easier to disregard the experiences of people you can’t relate to, but as someone who has biracial half siblings I can tell you that society DOES put black people through hell.

    • caribbean native December 19, 2014

They would get u sis…….so ignorant u arr

  13. IKeepG@ysHumble December 19, 2014

    This is a mess.

  14. DanYiel Teflon December 19, 2014

People amaze me only go after IGGY cus she’s WINNING!! Put out music & STFU!!

    • caribbean native December 19, 2014

What the f***…is iggy really winning…….whats her sales…..2 “pop” singles that did well aint winning……ill love to see her sell out a single areana of that tour tho……

  15. Liam December 19, 2014

but azealia banks wasn’t meaning her….she was talking about in general! Iggy needs to watch the interview and see what the initial point was ugh

  16. Chance December 19, 2014

This is so SAD. Mr. Banks perpetuates the black woman stereotype. Mean-spirited, bitter, miserable and hateful. NO ONE likes her or her s***** attitude. As for Iggy, this is hip hop. Stop being so deep and insightful on twitter and put your feelings on WAX. Maybe, just MAYBE people will gain more respect for you.

    • Anita December 19, 2014

Do you have any theories as to why black people can seem mean-spirited and bitter? I just want to know how much you know about what’s happened to them.

  17. ConfessionsofaGoodKisser December 19, 2014

How do you expect Iggy to understand anything about race? She’s uneducated and doesn’t see that Hip Hop and Rap exists within the context of the African-American experience.
She’s the one who said Aboriginals destroy their houses because they’d rather sleep under the stars. Can you imagine?

  18. Lily December 19, 2014

Itchy Areola? I can’t oh! And what makes Uggly thinks she’s even talking to her. I don’t like these two but in this one I’m going with Azealia Banks. Fuggly needs to STFU.

  19. LB December 19, 2014

Well Azealia is right on the money, that fake Southern Accent, that whole wannabe thug attitude when you grew up in Aussie.

Notice Igor’s tweets are less hood nowadays ever since she started writing dissertations on twitter?

That fake Keke from the South Side of Chicago Accent equates to black face to me and yet nobody sees it.

Dappy, Tinny Tampa and many Brit acts rap in their British Accent, just saying.

    • ENOUGH ONIKA (NEW & IMPROVED) December 19, 2014

Yet when black people fake european accents and wear blonde wigs to be a pop white woman aka Nicki, it’s cool. Gtfo. I don’t even like Iggy’s music and see the hypocrisy. Enough with the b*******, Azealia ruined her own chances being a nasty b*tch.

      • LB December 19, 2014

I don’t know, your fav has been wearing that tattered house of dereon wig since her career started, I can see why you miss the point.

  20. blue December 19, 2014

african american are literally the biggest cry babies, seriously of all the races that have been mistreated in whe past you guys are the only ones who cant seem to get past it and use it as an excuse for not getting ahead.

I find every rapper trying to put iggy’s fame down to skin color as being racists. Obviously iggy has enough rap skills to carry a catch tune to the top of the charts.

    • SMH December 19, 2014

Then why can’t she carry an album to Gold status?

  21. blue December 19, 2014

instead of attacking iggys fake american accent, attack Nicki fake british one

    • LB December 19, 2014

But the Fake Brit accent Nicki had was for a character she created. All I’m saying is Igor is playing to the stereotype, there’s nothing authentic about her.

Dappy has kept true to his originality whilst keeping hip hop authentic. Hell Eminem, YellaWolf, Paul Wall don’t play to the stereotype. Even Jessie J, Judas TimberFake, Connor Maynard have all kept it authentic without coming off as insulting.

There’s a difference between a Justin Timberlake and a Justin Bieber, one is authentic, the other one isn’t.

Just like there is a difference between a JoJo and a Miley Cyrus. We’ve seen this game before.

      • blue December 19, 2014

so what speaking in an american accent is insulting to americans? You stan for rihanna who has to some extend done the same thing.

And you seriously dont think that to some extend iggy azalea the rapper is not a character either? That the accent and attitude is notary of that persona?

      • Toohotfortv December 19, 2014

To what extent has rihanna fed into being anything other than a black Caribbean woman?

  22. blue December 19, 2014

i know a lot of kids in my country who take up that rap identity with the fashion and american accent a refer to streets they grew up as the ‘hood’. Its funny and at times embarrassing but i understand where it comes from… I myself have weird accent that sometimes is american then british then god knows what. To the point that if i dont speak my mother tongue( which i hardly use outside the house) people wonder if im even from my own country.

Iggys american accent should be welcomed by americans as she clearly identifies herself with them then her own people, unlike Nicki who rather change herself and be more european

    • LB December 19, 2014

I watch a lot of British soap operas, my favorites being Emmerdale and Coronation Street and not once did I ever think of taking up any British Accent even though I love hearing them.

      • blue December 19, 2014

its not that you decide to take it up its that you just end up talking like them. I watch a lot of american tv, an have people make fun of me when i speak even though i cant help it. And except from my R’s i hardly notice it. But im ok as my cuts in and out. You would find socially guys who just full on speak like they stepped off a hip hop music video set. And that really is their english accent, having never step a foot in america too.

  23. King M.J December 19, 2014

Smh, Grow up, such an embarrassment.

  24. Wtf December 19, 2014

Bit#h please no one says anything when black artist do rock, pop, dance & house music so why complain when white artist do hip hop. Black people are just as rasict but they they think that they are allowed to be that’s the problem.

    • Google can be your friend December 19, 2014

Blacks created those genres too just so you know.

    • Toohotfortv December 19, 2014

Smfh… and the crazy part is, “wtf” honestly didn’t know that. The irony is in the name. And the idea that you seemingly didn’t know that those genres were built on black Americans backs is exactly the point. You people will (and have on several occasions) taken things that we create and then claim them as your own. And in the end, the books never mention our legacy.

    • caribbean native December 19, 2014

Hahah u a dumbass lmao girl blacks created thise genres….not u see what ms banks was talking about…u just prove her point

  25. SMH December 19, 2014

White people are the most racist, hypocritical, and disgusting group of people in history. They are a cancer to civilization that needs to be eradicated off the planet. Yeah, I said it. And you can keep your b.s. about black people being just as racist because it’s a b******* deflection tactic created by white people to cover up their true nature.

  26. LOL December 19, 2014

LOL UGGLY IS JUST MAD CUZ REFLOPIFIED SOLD LESS THAN BROKE WITH EXPENSIVE TASTE AND NOW SHE NEEDS NICK JONAS TO SELL CONCERT TICKETS TO KEEP HER RELEVANT LOL.

  27. whut December 19, 2014

All this back and forth makes me think that there’s a deeper story going on behind the scenes between these two and T.I. This isn’t just about music.

    • Toohotfortv December 19, 2014

You have to be white. Because if you’re a black American and think that there has to be more behind this than what she has said, that’s really sad. And you’re really asleep.

    • Tyler December 19, 2014

No f****** duh. It stems all the way back to slavery.

  28. Blue Ivy Rodriguez December 19, 2014

Half these commenters don’t know what they’re talking about and the other half is showing their ignorance/ prejudice through their words. Banks isn’t speaking on Iggy’s skin colour as a reason for her success or a reason why she failed. She’s saying that Iggy emulating a stereotype, a mockery of the real thing. No one has problem with white rappers, people hVe problems with those who are white trying to convince people they are “down” with hip hop culture. If this is who you are then so be it but how is Iggy going to assess Banks life but cannot take what Banks says about her presence? Smh weak ass s***…

Listen folks, racism isn’t just hating someone based on skin or ethnic trait but a system. A system that was designed to oppress, control and brainwash those it works against. Examples: stop and frisk the minorities because they commit the crimes but whites commit 86% of Americas crime. Thus make blacks and other minorities more at risk and more likely to be targeted as a suspect.

  29. Blue Ivy Rodriguez December 19, 2014

Billboard, Rolling Stones, etc.. Keep giving Iggy these titles but many of her hip hop contemporaries can’t even get a shout out? See the b*******?

  30. sleazy December 19, 2014

whats funmy to me is this woman album is barely gold she has 2 hits and her rapping is off she is a white girl trying to be black but she gets all these oppurtunities and titles where as Nicki debut was waaaaaaaay bigger and better than the new classic which critics slammed. watch Iggy win a grammy and people act like its cus she is on Tupac level smh

  31. evolv February 12, 2015

Oral h***** or generally known as Cold sores, are itchy and
painful blisters usually found in the mouth, gums,
lips, and face. Another bonus: a naturally sweetened shake won’t have the aftertaste that comes with artificial sweeteners.
One final note on the compensation plan, it is a binary hybrid.
