The track is is the latest taste from the 27-year-old’s eighth studio album and follows moderate hit ‘FourFiveSeconds.’
Having touted that her new music will be “timeless,” the star had a tall task ahead of her delivering on her promise. Has she achieved her goal with the DePuTy/Kanye West production (which she co-wrote)? Find out below…
If ‘Pour It Up’ and ‘7/11’ had offspring, this would be she.
Credit where it’s due, the song succeeds in catering to one’s of Rih’s musical cornerstones – the club. And, in many ways, it represents a welcome return to “ratchet” after the contrived clutter that was ‘FourFiveSeconds.’
However, it would be remiss of us to not address the routinely shocking vocals. In parts, she sounded like a wasp.
Still, we’re sure this will sting the competition on the [R&B] charts. As for its mainstream viability, it’s definitely a risk with that title and those lyrics.

Wow! I’m kinda disappointed. 3 years is more than enough time to write & record a descent album, with descent songs. In this song, you can tell that she’s aiming for a Billboard hit. But it lacks creativity, and the production isn’t put together well. & I thought her vocals improved? That was a lie, cause she sounds like a strangled cat. I was actually anticipating this project, but if the whole album sounds like this, Rihanna is in trouble.But, I’m waiting for #Jackie, cause Ciara’s music is heaven compared to this.
