The ‘Uptown Funk’ singer is to receive an enviable star for his contributions to Pop music with his hit-birthing discography.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the news when it unveiled its class of 2016 hours ago and will expect Mars and the other recipients to cover the $30,000 bill for the star’s installation.
Billboard adds:
This year’s list includes movie director Quentin Tarantino and actors Steve Carell, Bradley Cooper, Ashley Judd, Michael Keaton and Kurt Russell, while the likes of Shirley Caesar, Joseph B. “Joe” Smith and Itzhak Perlman will be feted in the “recording” category.
Entertainers are recognized in five categories: motion picture, television, radio, recording and live theater.
LL Cool J has also learned that he is to receive a star as has Cyndi Lauper, Kevin Hart, Adam Levine and Rob Low.

There’s so many great artists from the 70s,80s, 90s and early 00s who should receive a star before him. ..and Shh they just now giving LL Cool J a star after all theses years? His contribution to black culture is undeniable, especially in Hip-Hop?
What makes this so bad is TLC don’t even have one. Hell not even WWE’S The Undertaker don’t even have one WTF I like Bruno but they giving these accolades away like candy in the candy store it makes no damn sense.

Na this is stupid I’m guessing no one else handed a request in and Bruno was the only one hence why they accepted . There’s far more established artists who deserve it . Beyonce won’t get a star cos destinys child has one and they would want to keep Diana Ross the only female to have two one with group one solo even though beyonce should have got a solo one two years ago. Heck even lady gaga should get one before him
I don’t check for Bruno’s music at all except for a single here and there but he is very talented. His live performances are the truth but this is wayyyy too soon. The requirements state that you must be active in your field for five years or more which he does satisfy but there are many more veteran artists more deserving. The fact that he’s receiving it at the same time as LL Cool J, whose been around for more than two decades and has been a huge part of not only Hip Hop culture, but the entertainment industry in general (conquered both TV and film), speaks volumes. Oh well, congrats to all inductees.
It does seems like they are picking celebrities to receive the honor way to early. Years ago you had to be approaching Icon status to receive a star. Congrats Bruno though if he gets it.
