I just checked, and apparantly Janet Jackson has only sold 26 million albums in U.S,. Check the RIAA! I’m schocked. But I thought she was bigger than Madonna? Madonna has sold 64,5 million albums in U.S. Janet stans don’t like the truth…even Taylor Swift has more certified album sales than janet.

I love AAliyah, but let’s not act like she was one of the POPULAR artists during her time. She has an amazing discography, yet her sales and singles peak positions were drastic at best. So therefore, while her peers were easily scanning 5x platinum, she was simply unable to catch up and her popularity unfortunately never caught momentum until…that faithful and tragic event, which I refuse to discuss. Still love her, though.

JUST like Janet and Rihanna now, Aaliyah was on her uncle’s Blackground records label and was distributed by JIVE on the first one, Alantic on the 2nd one and Virgin on the last album. So Aaliyah was basically inde, Brandy and Monica were on mayors. And people compare their 2nd albums as if they all came out the same year, Million dropped in 96, Never and Boy dropped in 89. 89 sales skyrocketed (hint, Britney, Nsync, BBB, DC4 etc.) Also, Monica were based on shippments, not sales, she sole a million on her first two albums at best. Aaliyah had 2 double plat albums before the age of 18. Her first single was a top 5, she had 1 #1, a few top 10’s and a lot of top 40s.

Artists like Usher and Mariah Carey are sitting on Diamond albums right now that sold over 7 million. Certifications are made from shipments, not just sales. Leave these kinds of discussions to people who know what the f**k they are talking about. Are you really that stupid to believe RN and janet. albums have only sold 6 million after the last certifications came in over 20 years ago? Biitch you’re stupid, late and desperate.

Sandra was only going with the stats she was able to research, so I wouldn’t say it’s her fault for relaying old stats that weren’t updated. Our Queen IS a legend and if Toni Braxton’s “Secrets” can be certified 8x platinum BACK IN 1998-1999 (I’m certain its diamond now), then Janet sure as hell has a Diamond album or two by now.
