The British singer has bulldozed all expectations with new single ‘Hello,’ which has opened atop of the Billboard Hot 100 today.
Its first week sales? Over 1 million!

The haunting track, which ushers in the star’s third album ’25,’ officially sold 1,112,000 in the first US tracking week following its October 23rd release.
Not only does the single end the six-week stay at the top spot for ‘The Hills’ by The Weeknd, it breaks a new record.
For, its 1.1 million debut sales makes it the first song ever to sell over 1 million downloads in seven days. ‘Hello’ is also the most downloaded song in a week ever; Flo’Rida’s 2009 hit ‘Right Round’ previously held that honor (that song sold 636,000).
Other notable achievements for the Greg Kurstin production are:
- It’s the 24th song in the Hot 100’s history to open at #1
- It becomes Adele’s fourth chart-topper – joining ’21’ singles ‘Rolling In The Deep,’ ‘Someone Like You,’ and ‘Set Fire To The Rain.’
- On the steaming front, ‘Hello’ was streamed Stateside 61.6 million times in just one week.
The slayage is real, unforgiving, and utterly amazing! So deserved too.
