Statistically, ‘Beautiful’ stands as one of Christina Aguilera‘s biggest hits.
It’s little wonder, then, why the potent vocalist has re-enlisted its writer, Linda Perry, for her upcoming eighth studio album.

The news came via Aguilera herself at the Verizon Hopeline event this week.
Speaking on her current ventures, she told Wonderwall:
“I’m mainly focused on my music right now and trying to finish [the album] up and proceeding to work and accumulate with different producers and so far it’s going amazing. I’m just making sure I have time to let things simmer and cook in the pot so that the outcome is really the best that it can be.”
She went on to dish on Perry’s involvement:
“I’m working with some new producers that I haven’t before. And I’m reuniting with some old producers that I have always had a long time connection with, including Linda Perry who I did ‘Beautiful’ with. We have such a beautiful chemistry and connection.”
As for what can expect from the LP (the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Lotus’), Xtina was coy but added:
“[I can’t say anything] specific but, greatness in store! I wish I could say a little bit more but I kind of really love the element of surprise.”

Perry, who joins a list of producers which includes the likes of Da Internz and Pharrell, is the name which gets us most excited.
For, beyond ‘Beautiful,’ she’s also responsible for stellar cuts from Xtina’s discography such as ‘Hurt,’ ‘Lift Me Up,’ and ‘Candyman.’
Thus far, the LP is shaping up to be an eclectic affair. We just hope Christina is ready to serve it up come her return to The Voice next Spring. Because, it’s one thing taking time to create a cohesive body of work, but it’s another to make sure one properly uses the platforms available to promote it when the time arrives.
