Ameriie is back.

The eclectic songbird hatches a dozen fresh songs on new EP ‘DRIVE.’

Its the first body of material the singer has released since 2009’s ‘In Love And War’ and features production from ‘One Thing’ creator Rich Harrison, The Buchanans, and Mike City.

Unleashed in a markedly different climate to Ameriie’s last “traditional” outing, how will her latest collection fare?

Listen below and let us know if you still have room on your playlist for the starlet.

can someone not count? I read that first sentence thinking I was gonna get 12 tracks at album capacity… Its clearly 6 tracks, Smh.

  2. Jessica May 20, 2016

She stayed true to her sound

  3. HALF AMAZIN May 20, 2016

It’s ok. Something about her voice seems whiny at times.

  4. Abomb May 20, 2016

That last song, “out loud” was the s***!

    Fresh.Progressive.RnB.Sonic.

Although an EP, Ameriie definitely mastered the happy marriage of substance, swag and creativity. It’s refreshing to hear contemporary rnb that’s instrumentally organic and yet void effortlessly void of unnecessary lewd material.

She reminds me of a modern day Amel Larrieux with Patrice Rushen vibes.

  7. The A Team May 20, 2016

Love it, so fresh and so her. I always wonder why she never puts things for purchase, everything is always on soundcloud as of late

  8. Rihboy May 20, 2016

Ameriie first album is a classic. She gave me Mary j bilge vibe… From what’s the 411 album

I agree and i still play that to death, but if i’m honest she has kinda gone down hill since. Although these tracks are okay they sound the same as things she’s done before, the melodic flow, arrangements and even the beats sound like leftovers from previous work.
I saw her on the breakfast club and she says that she writes a lot of her own songs and this might be the problem.

      • BJohnson May 23, 2016

Did not like it at all and even forced myself to listen twice.
@Dev your analysis heat the nail on the head about it sounding old or stale. Had this come out 6 years ago maybe but I was sorely unimpressed. I’ve been watching her Youtube channel on books and that really seems to be her main passion these days.

    I like it!

  12. 1mcluver May 20, 2016

I’m sorry but she is way more talented then rihanna and beyonce, if she was messing around as much as rihanna did back then she would be as big as her or even bigger

  13. Matt May 20, 2016

I love it. Its fresh. She’s writing books now, which helped write better music and she was on the breakfast club recently she handles herself very well. If only she liked red carpets and pictures. Amerie is gorgeous but she has way more artisty than just leaning on being pretty. She was serious about putting out her EP out. I’m happy she’s back and she’s not back for the wrong reasons, she has money she said. She doesn’t like talking about money #HUMBLE. Shes worth over 3 million. I applaud you AMERIE for being true to yourself. 100

Only 1 good song out loud her 1st album is the best i bet if rich would of did all the songs it would sound good

  17. Casual-T May 20, 2016

Every Time and Take the Blame were the standouts for me.

  18. Dominick May 20, 2016

I agree. Only “Out Loud” sounds MASTERED WELL. Rich Harrison should do all of her tracks and nobody else…

    • Credits May 20, 2016

The mix is perfect! Rich is a beast with the percussion!

I’m an Ameriie fan. Like her biggest fan. I needed these newest tracks 2-5 but I think #2 “the stars” would have been an awesome song if she would have sung it in her lower register like the song off her first album “talking to me.” I’m not sure about the register she is singing on it currently. If she can redo it in her lower it would be AWWWWEEESOOMMEE. as for the rest “sing about it” and “take the blame” are my new jams! And I love the remastered and Fabolous feature on “every time.” It renewed the song for me. And “Out Loud” would be the favorite had I not wore that out in 2015.
