With each new year comes a sea of fresh faces hoping to make waves. In the Urban arena, few have made more of a mark in 2016 than Toronto’s Tory Lanez.

Indeed, his unique rap-sung style has earned him fans in the realms of both Hip-Hop and R&B, as well as high chartings with hits such as ‘LUV’ and ‘Say It.’

This summer saw the 24-year-old bring the heat with his debut album ‘I Told You,’ which impressively opened at #4 on the Billboard 200.

That Grape Juice caught up with the star to discuss a multitude of topics, including his newfound fame, collaborating with rival Drake, being his own influence, critics, and a whole lot more.

Great interview. He repping the 6 hard and I rep him keeping his roots.

    Also, F*** drake

    • Kwinzy September 5, 2016

He’s actually from the same city as Alessia Cara & Roy Wood$ just outside the 6ix called Brampton. I Told You is a solid album. Still mad L.A. Confidential didn’t make the cut but whatever.

Good look tgj! I love Tory! Get Bryson next!

    • Coolness September 5, 2016

Bryson is an elusive chanteur. He rarely grants interviews.

  4. Keri Qween September 5, 2016

He needs to find his own identity and stop talking about Drake in every interview. That doesn’t hurt Drake..he’s established, it hurts him.

  5. Molly #TheMostRelevantBitch September 5, 2016

His album is fire even tho he sounds like the weeknd drake and fetty at times.

  6. #TeamTinashe Stan September 5, 2016

Y’all with these “Who/What do you prefer” questions. Lol hehe
Of course he is going to say QueenTee as he STANS for her if you guys don’t know. He even did a nice justifiable cover to her song “Stunt” from the Black Water mixtape called “Friends With Benefits” on his debut album.

His album is amazing . Been a fan of his since his mixtape days . He’s so underrated. He’s only cute when he wears hats tho . But he is definitely one of the most versatile artist out

  13. RealBrandyFan September 6, 2016

He is a talented songwriter, composer but he CANNOT sing. I listen to his album on Tidal and he hides behind autotune a lot and then other songs you’ll hear his real voice. His album didn’t make me want to go and buy it.
