Lady Gaga is officially Super Bowl bound!
Ending weeks of speculation, the NFL announced moments ago that the superstar will headline the PEPSI Halftime Show at the 2017 game.

Taking to Twitter, the singer tweeted:

The gargantuan gig comes as quite the coup for the 30 year old.
For, it sees her join the likes of Michael Jackson, Beyonce, and Madonna on the elite list of artists bestowed the Halftime honor. It’ll provide a huge platform to plug her new album ‘Joanne’ which lands in stores October 21st.
The 2017 Super Bowl takes place February 5th at Houston’s NRG Stadium.

It boggles my mind how the NFL comes up with someone like Lady Gaga as the performer for the halftime show at the Super Bowl. ? I am not being sexist with this comment but she has a predominantly female following. Not saying that is a bad thing but why not get a performer that is more suitable for all audiences and that would entertain all of us instead of just the younger female generation considering that is who follows her the most. However that is not why I think she is a bad fit for the half time show at the Super Bowl. I simply feel like there are numerous other artist and great performers that would have been a much better fit for such a big event. The Super Bowl is not only the biggest sporting event of the year but possibly the biggest in general. I haven’t heard of Lady Gaga being in the spotlight or having any hit songs in QUITE some time, but perhaps that is just because I do not follow her or her music. OBVIOUSLY not everyone is going to follow or be into whoever the performer at the Super Bowl is, but there is a difference in a boy band or a singer like Lady Gaga that is liked more so by younger females compared to someone like The Red Hot Chili Peppers Coldplay Drake Eminem The Rolling Stones Florida Georgia Line or someone that has a bigger fan base. If there was a poll taken with football fans of who would be interested in attending a Lady Gaga concert I am pretty sure that number would be pretty low. Pretty disappointing if you ask me!

It’s actually really smart. Gaga’s album will sell well in the forth quarter of the year. The next single will most likely be a big one, with a big video to match. The holiday season will sustain her sales, and after the Superbowl, when her album would have normally dropped off the charts, it will shoot back up. Third single release big video again and a world tour announcement after.
Her team isn’t looking for big first week sales. They want an album that is selling year round.
