Chart Check [Billboard 200]: Lady Gaga Places Three Albums In Top 25

Published: Friday 17th Feb 2017 by Rashad

If you thought Lady Gaga‘s Super Bowl-fueled resurgence was limited to the Billboard Hot 100, you thought wrong.

Yes, as we reported here, the singer/songwriter gave fans about a million reasons to fall in love again with her hit-filled catalog when she took to the Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show.  And, fall in love they did. Boosting her set ‘Joanne’ and its second single, ‘Million Reasons,’ to the top of album and digital sales charts respectively, newly unveiled stats reveal the streaming response was equally as potent.

The result?  Gaga’s ‘Reasons’ hopped to a Hot 100 peak of #4 and its parent album to #2 on the Billboard 200.  Look inside to see where other prized offerings from her discography landed on this week’s refreshed “Chart Check”:

    • Mark111 February 17, 2017

Humble yourself, anyone performing in front of 100M will have a sale spike, the test is will Johnny Boy stay in the top 10 next week.

  3. mikey February 17, 2017

Anti STILL in the top 20? I didint even realise that

  4. Fashion Icon February 17, 2017

    Rihanna !!!! After one year

    • KING NAVY February 17, 2017

To think they call that album a flop yet its out charting their faves

    • JOHNVIDAL February 17, 2017

That album has sold less copies than Lemonade and other albums every single week for the entire last year though. Charts are so pucked up right now that an album that sells so lowly can be there. Only that. Streaming force I guess 🙂

      • Keri Qween February 17, 2017

But the point is, over a year later consumers and music listeners continue to listen to ANTI. THE CHARTS are not messed up. The billboard hot 100 includes sales+streams and rightfully so. There have been numerous reports showing anf stating that streaming makes up a large portion of music consumption. If you want to live in the past that’s a personal problem but everyone else has moved on just like we did from vinyl records to cassettes to CDs and now streaming. Album sales are DOWN. Plus there are albums released after ANTI that are nowhere to be found. If streaming were so easy and free, where is everyone’s album? Stop being bitter.

  5. KING NAVY February 17, 2017

    I don’t see Lemonade

    • BEYSTAN_ SINCE 1997 February 17, 2017

I didnt see Rihanna win any Grammys Sunday night either…. Let that sink in
      0/8 wins….. STAY MAD ?>>>>?

      • SMH February 17, 2017

And I don’t see Rihanna fans whining and crying all over social media like welfare babies because their fave got snubbed for AOTY…yet again.

      • Shakira stan February 17, 2017

Rihanna was not the one a legend called a model with a mic who is only good for red carpets and photoshoot let that sink in. Kiiiiii

      • Swiftie February 17, 2017

Lmao the hive is pathetic bringing up Grammys like their fave didn’t lose AOTY three times in a row and ended up losing to a dead man and a 60s rock band

    • JanStan February 17, 2017

No artist on earth would want Rihanna’s streaming success over Beyonces touring slayage and critical acclaim. Lol. Just stop. Please.

      • SMH February 17, 2017

They’d rather have Rihanna’s record making and record breaking slayage on Billboard that is forever documented for history.

      • JanStan February 17, 2017

Yeah I’m going to go ahead and say that no one but the navy give an f about billboards singles charts. They become more obsolete every year just like Rihanna herself. And her Anti tour receipts prove it. I love her but I just can’t with the delusion.

  6. February 17, 2017

Damn. She really hustled her way through with that not so good album. Million reasons is a very good song though.

    • JOHNVIDAL February 17, 2017

The album is good. Some people have a problem with real changes of direction and genres and prefer the easy pop. Only that. She has proven herself now that she can do it all, and still prevail. Million Reasons, Sinners Prayer or Joanne are 3 fantastic songs for example. Fantastic.

  7. Cough Cough February 17, 2017

    Slay bítćh!

  8. LOL February 17, 2017

LOL AND SLAYANNE’S WIG SNATCHING CONTINUES.

BUT WHERE’S KOOLAID THO? I SEE ANTI STILL SITTING PRETTY A YEAR LATER LMAO.

    • Wonder Woman February 17, 2017

      Poor Artpoop
      .
B**** Koolaid has outsold Anti and Joanne COMBINED
      .
Joanne was #66 last week a(fter how many months, LOL), I know you’re the one to brag…
      .
I give it 3 weeks and it will be back at where it was before the superbowl

  9. JanStan February 17, 2017

I have tix to 2 different shows yes queen!!! Cannot wait for the live vocal slayage to snatch my weave CLEAN OFF. Come through Joanne!!!!

  10. Wonder Woman February 17, 2017

LMFAO at the Monsters coming out of hiding after 3 years and a few months
    .
I bet if Ciara would perform next year all her albums would peak at a new # I don’t get why the Monsters are over excited…. now there’s nothing that will revive her career. After The Tour she will be DONE bookmark this b******

    • JanStan February 17, 2017

Haha someone’s pressed. Bye Panini Woman!

      • Wonder Woman February 17, 2017

Sip my Tea or seethe over it
        .
And unlike everyone who performed at the halftime show… Superbowl destroyed fave Tranet

      • JanStan February 17, 2017

At least she could book the Super Bowl hahaha!!!

    • Black power February 17, 2017

Lmao you’re delusional to think that even the Super Bowl could resurrect Ciara’s career

  11. Mark111 February 17, 2017

A solid year later, Anti is still in the top 20 on both charts. I’ll take success over a trophy any day.

  12. Keri Qween February 17, 2017

    Anti still slaying. Longevity Queen

    • JOHNVIDAL February 17, 2017

No thanks to sales though. Streaming has really saved her career for now.

      • Mark111 February 17, 2017

It sold 600K so far. Streaming is the industry now, if you don’t like it, you can be forever stressed along with your flopping faves. Oh and streaming helped Gags rechart, so don’t full yourself. Streaming companies pay the holder of the music masters, so Rihanna is doing great, worry about Innerscope talking all of Gag’s money from streaming.

      • JanStan February 17, 2017

“Spotify says it pays labels and publishers between $0.006 and $0.0084 per stream. A Guardian report suggests that the average payment a signed artist gets after their label takes its share is a mere $0.001128”.

That is why no one but the navy gives two fs about streaming. It’s one thing for fans to stan on twitter and blogs, a complete other thing to stan with them coins.

  13. JOHNVIDAL February 17, 2017

So deserved. Congrats. Has been lovely seeing real talent prevailing against all odds.

  14. Barb B**** February 17, 2017

Not Navy peeing themselves over basic streams

  15. Mase February 17, 2017

    YAASSSS GAGA

  16. Now at youfr best game way tuesidnz February 17, 2017

    Nice
