Justin Timberlake Reunites With Timbaland & Pharrell

Published: Wednesday 29th Mar 2017 by Sam

Justin Timberlake is baking new music and ahead of serving it up he’s playing the teasing game.

The Pop titan is riding the wave of success with mainstream smash ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling,’ which slayed in every which way last year (and is still in the upper echelon of iTunes as we type).

However, it appears he’s moving away from the sugary-Pop crafted for him by Max Martin and re-embracing the familiar.

See what we mean below…

Timberlake took to social media today to share a shot of himself with longtime collaborators Timbaland and Pharrell Williams.

The hitmakers also posted the same snap, with all three adding the cryptic caption ‘…’

As widely known, JT has enjoyed seismic success working with both Timbo and Pharrell – both of whom have been integral components of his single and album output over the years.

And while the constant teasing is titillating, we’re cautious.

The group’s last collective outing ‘The 20/20 Experience’ was rather “blah” and was gassed up on the merit of being Timberlake’s first album in six years (at the time).

Hopefully, the trio have cooked up something all the more compelling this go round. It’d also be cool to see some fresh names in his musical mix too. Both from a production and feature standpoint.

20/20 part one was awesome, part 2 was just so try hard tho. We’ll see. I fell out the JT bandwagon but he’s made great music before so…

The first part of 20/20 was excellent, tunnel vision, strawberry etc… however part 2 was just ok. I expected more. With zayn, bieber putting out cutting edge dance music, is there really a place for his corny new pop approach? Maybe his first single should be, I’m sorry as F** dedicated to Janet jackson.

        Cutting edge dance music
Lol, not you thinking those little boys are a threat to JT, he’s the real deal, is actually an insult to compare them to JT.

      • .LISA LEVINE March 29, 2017

@S****** Blonde Girl. You know fully well these lil boys are selling records, getting played in the clubs, Justin Timberlake is closing in on 40 years old, his time is about up. They may not DANCE like him but they match is vocals.

“With zayn, bieber putting out cutting edge dance music”

Lol what? Why are all of your posts filled with nonsense? Zayn doesn’t even put out dance music and no one purchased his last album.

@Slayty is Chained to the Rhythm tell your dad he should have paid for that abortion. Your worthless.

I loved the 20/20 Experience, he worked with Timbaland for it and the record was very different from FSLS and Justified, some of his best songs are on the 20/20 series albums, so he knows what he’s doing.

Reunited? Doesnt’ he always work with them? I’m so sick of this man

Girl we finally agree on something lol but for real this further proves my point I made a few posts back JT wouldnt be where he is if it wasn’t for Janet (Cosign earlier/SuperBowl), Brit (Date, dissed her/ Cry Me River), MJ (Reject tracks), Pharrell (whole first album with the Neptunes), and most importantly Tim (whole production and Ginuwines reject tracks off FSLS ) like damn he can’t work with other producers like our faves? Why still use the same formula with the very same people that help create your whole catalog. No growth or true artisty that’s why. His time is approaching too just watch. No hype or payola gonna change that too.

Lol you can say that about a lot of artists. There is no way to prove Brit and Janet helped his career and almost every artist has a group of collaborators/songwriters that they have great chemistry with. Artists have been sticking to the same creative groups on every album since the 60s. All of the greats have their career-long collaborators.

    Keep it, culture vulture.

The whole 20/20 was bomb. Y’all act like y’all know everything about music and sounds ?. Anyway I can’t wait to hear what he does with Pharrell and how music Tim has evolved because he always changes his craft!

  6. SE March 29, 2017

Pharrell didn’t work on a single song on The 20/20 experience , he hasn’t worked with him since his first album so im for Pharrell being back in the mix.

NEW JT is what we need

  7. Naima March 29, 2017

Say whatever you want about Justin, but he never flops! He’s actually talented as a vocalist and MUSICIAN unlike most of these new guys out here who have no true talent.

    • Lmfao_Hoe March 29, 2017

Vocalist???? Girl please stop that was too funny.

20/20 part one was anything but meh. TGJ must be confusing part one with part two. Anyways I’m here for it. The Weeknd and Bruno have been keeping me over but its time for more JT.

  9. Mark111 March 29, 2017

20/20 was very Meh, and part 2 was absolutely horrible. Tim needs to distance himself from Pharrell because he’s being used. Not only did Tim do 80% JT’s best album FS/LS, he had the only few good songs on 20/20. Let’s rewind back to 2002 with P*ssifide, sure the first single was a MJ reject (latterly) and produced by Pharrell. What was the standout of that album? Love You Like I Love You or Cry Me A River? I’ll give credit for Rock Your Body, but FS/LS murdered everything on that first album.

same oh same, do urban music to stay invited among black culture, we will see how quick mainstream gabs as usually.

  11. Ziggy Stardust March 29, 2017

I actually liked all 3 of his albums, “Justified”, “Future S**/LoveSounds” and, “The 20/20 Experience”. He has good chemistry with Timbaland, as well as Pharrell, so I’m looking forward to his next project.

  12. DanYiel Iman March 29, 2017

I liked a few of his songs purchased his 20/20 album…

  13. John A. March 29, 2017

I think Justin hasn’t made a good and cohesive album since FS/LS. He’s had some good tracks since then but as a cohesive body of work no.

    • Francis March 29, 2017

I agree, that album is fire and cohesive from start to finish, he did release some amazing songs after, like Mirror, Murder, Let the Groove Get In or Tunnel Vision, but the 20/20 Experience wasn’t at the level of FS/LS or Justified, it was a success because he was gone for too long, the hype was enough for him to sell.

  14. Francis March 29, 2017

I liked the 20/20 Experience, that album has some good songs besides the singles, but Justin needs to deliver and top FS/LS, that album is a masterpiece. Despite this, an album it’s always a good excuse for a tour and JT always delivers on stage.

    Bring it JT!
