New Music: MAAD – ‘LÉ FUNK’ EP

Rising Star Shines On Funky Set
Published: Saturday 1st Apr 2017 by Sam

It takes a cutting edge talent to carve out a place and fanbase in today’s crowded marketplace.

But it’s something New Yorker MAAD has achieved with relative ease.
And, upon listening to her hypnotic brand of R&B, it quickly becomes apparent why.
A delicious fusion of the funky, fresh, and familiar, hers is a sound that demands attention. It boasts a wide appeal too, with its undeniable rooting in the nostalgic and tasteful take on the current.
Last year saw the singer, model, and DJ, showcase this with addictive cuts such as ‘Black Ice’ and ‘Touch Me’ featuring Grammy nominee Ro James.
Answering the calls of her growing fanbase, the rising star uncaged electrifying EP ‘LÉ FUNK’ this week.
Comprised of seven infectious tracks, the project was written by MAAD with production courtesy of frequent collaborators The VAMP.
We’ve had it replay here at TGJ and imagine you will too!
Take a listen…

Nice vibe. We need more new talent man. There are much fresh male rappers doing their thing. Why we can’t have that same success with black female pop, r&b and rap stars. TGJ y’all should do a post on that. I remember when there use to be sooooo many black female artist all eating and having hits. Why is there only 3 major black female artist out today? It’s crazy. Sorry for the rant but it’s sad.
