Christina Aguilera Hits Studio With Mark Ronson & Anderson.Paak

Published: Thursday 28th Sep 2017 by Sam

Christina Aguilera fans are growing frustrated with the lack of music from the singer.

It’s been five years since the release of her last album ‘Lotus’ and each passing year has been characterised by no material, scant updates, and unkept promises.

But it appears the vocal wonder isn’t resting on her laurels.

See what we mean below…

Hitmaker Mark Ronson shared a shot of himself in the studio with Xtina and Anderson.Paak on Instagram stories.

The songbird and Ronson previously collaborated on her critically acclaimed ‘Back 2 Basics’ LP in 2006.

That project also heavily featured DJ Premier, who we know Aguilera has also been clocking up studio time with recently.

Could she be on the cusp of delivering another helping of soulful, jazz inspired jams?

Who knows? We just hope she hatches it soon rather than later.

We’re all for respecting the “artistic” process, but the fact remains that time (and audiences) don’t wait for anyone. There’s a very real “business” element to showbiz that acts tend to neglect when creating. It’s imperative to remember how important it is to have folks interest when ready to release – or what’s the point.

Audiences need feeding and Xtina’s creative plate has been empty for the longest. She needs to serve a musical meal pronto!

Your thoughts?

Tbh it’s hard to assess where Christina would fit in today’s market but I’m optimistic, because with the exception of Lotus (which I wasn’t a fan of) Xtina usually delivers when she puts the effort in. Creatively speaking I really hope the imaging is up to standard as well. Again, Lotus IMO really dropped the ball there too.

Make another stripped album. But I agree. Hard to see where she fits in with today’s climate and mix of artists.

People failed to realize if your reality show income is more money than album sales. People will not make an album. Love and hip hop cast is another example of this and Kandi from Xscape.

That is not true. Artists focus on tours to make money. Album sales in a streaming and free download general mindset are nothing more than promotion for a new tour.

But if no one is buying your music, how will a tour sell out and make enough money where she makes equal to or more than doing the voice? She has to make 3x as much to probably make a profit higher than her income from doing the voice.

Xtina is allergic to hit songs! lol, I truly believe that! How in the world did she go in the studio with Max Martin and leave with no hits? How Sway? And her first album has so many different vocal tones…now it’s like she’s stuck on that one growl lol..she should cover Whitney’s Queen Of The Night, so she can growl to tha GODS lol

My two cents… I was a fan of Christina’s(not saying I’m not now) I just feel after Bionic even before it’s release after the video Not Myself Tonight she became(imo) lazy as a performer. The music was there but she wasn’t. Everything after that was half assed which was disappointing. Then Burlesque came out and performance wise(in the film doing the songs and choreography) she delivered. The movie and acting? Thats another story. After that movie came out even the performace’s of the songs were weak…. Its sad and Lotus… Return to sender except maybe 2 or 3 tracks. She needs to focus and have a plan or just forget about it

Honestly I think the Bionic era and getting divorced from Jordan really f u c k e d her up!
From various sources (Linda Perry, Daniel Hunt of Ladytron and M.I.A) all blamed RCA for interfering with the original vision she had for Bionic. They all said they kept fighting her about what to do and what the singles should be and that the final version was nothing like what they worked on in the studio etc.
Which is why when she got on The Voice they tried to capitalize on that platform and have her go all “commercial” and thus came the hot mess Lotus, which in turn blew up in RCA’s face as a flop.
So I honestly can’t say I blame Christina for not rushing. Only thing I would ask of her is tweet and interact with her fans a bit more.
But if her and Mark can give me some ture classic R&B songs, then I’m all here for it!!!

Another way of looking at what you wrote is that RCA wanted to change the direction of her album but Christina was intent on recording what she wanted to record which is why it flopped. I agree with Fancy BISH that she should have left the studio with some hits when she worked with Max Martin but she did not. When she did Stripped she worked with Scott Torch on most of the songs and followed his lead direction. Now she thinks she knows it all and is not willing to take direction. Humility is what she needs and she needs to trust a hot producer to lead her music.
