For millions the world over, Madonna is a superstar of epic proportions. But to six individuals, she’s simply… mom.
The 59-year-old has two biological children – daughter Lourdes (20) and Rocco (17). She’s also adopted four children – all from Malawi, a country she continues to have a strong charitable relationship with.
Celebrating those ties, Madge covers the latest issue of PEOPLE Magazine with them all – David (11), Mercy James (11), and twins Estere and Stella (5).
Opening up to the publication about her journey reasons for expanding her family, she simply explained:
“I thought, ‘I’m the luckiest person in the world. I have so much, and I feel like I’m not doing enough to help people.’”
In the time since, she’s worked tirelessly to bring about positive change in the country and this year built and opened the Mercy James Medical Center.

They make her happy. She has always given the impression of a strong and cold woman but she’s vulnerable on the inside. People like her usually have the biggest hearts.

Why take these kids from their parents instead of just helping them so they can stay with them? I call foul. Africans stop letting this happen time and time again. Its so embarrassing letting Europeans think they are African children descendents. Look how they have tricked multiple continents?
