Madonna Responds To News She’ll Be Investigated For “Violent Threats” Against Trump

Published: Sunday 22nd Jan 2017 by Rashad

‘Express Yourself’ singer Madonna has made a career of doing just that, often to the tune of controversy and backlash.  Yesterday, however, her outspokenness reportedly got her in hot water with the U.S. government after the pop icon took to the anti-Donald Trump “Women’s March on Washington” to voice her displeasure with the sitting president.  Taking the mic, Madge stated:

“Yes, I’m angry. Yes, I am outraged,” she said. “Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House. But I know this won’t change anything.”

The fiery quote, according to some outlets, allegedly aroused interest of investigation from the Secret Service for violent threats to the President (a report that has yet to be substantiated).  Regardless, Madonna took to Instagram to ease worry of fans who feared their fave singer may be going on an unexpected tour soon…of a prison.

Read her response inside:

Yesterday's Rally. was an amazing and beautiful experience. I came and performed Express Yourself and thats exactly what i did. However I want to clarify some very important things. I am not a violent person, I do not promote violence and it's important people hear and understand my speech in it's entirety rather than one phrase taken wildly out of context. My speech began with " I want to start a revolution of love." ♥️ I then go on to take this opportunity to encourage women and all marginalized people to not fall into despair but rather to come together and use it as a starting point for unity and to create positive change in the world. I spoke in metaphor and I shared two ways of looking at things — one was to be hopeful, and one was to feel anger and outrage, which I have personally felt. However, I know that acting out of anger doesn’t solve anything. And the only way to change things for the better is to do it with love. It was truly an honor to be part of an audience chanting “we choose love”. ????♥️????♥️????♥️????♥️???? #revoltutionoflove♥️#revolutionoflove♥️*******************************************************

Props to her for speaking her mind and saying how many of us feel instead of being a Taylor Swift that would never dare be controversial even when it’s the right thing to do bc it would cost her fans and album sales. Madge is the real deal and an icon

The full quote expresses love and non violence but FOX news and the Trump idiots only talk about the blow up part bc Madge suppoerted Obama and Hillary

    • Truth Tella January 23, 2017

No boo it’s not that. Old Madge made a threat and a threat should be taken seriously because if it was a Trump supported saying they wants to blow up the White House then y’all Hillary supporters will be outraged.

      • Cbeylive January 23, 2017

But they wouldn’t get investigated because those same ppl were the ones threatening OBama when he was in office

      • Jasmine January 23, 2017

@Truth Tella It is not right to waste tax payer dollars on “investigating” a non-threat that the person who stated it already confirmed it was a non-threat. By law, people are entitled to freedom of speech, and that includes the freedom to clarify your statements, make jokes, and speak to other people.

Like Trump saying he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Ave and the idiots would still follow him?

    • January 23, 2017

      exactly.

Granny did this for attention plain and simple. This old woman is damn near worth a billion, do u really think people like her care about the needs and rights of everyday women?

    • Killian January 23, 2017

    • Caleb January 23, 2017

even in that quote she says she knows blowing up the white house won’t solve anything! that was a non threat, in fact one can argue it rather talked down other angry people from using violence.

At least she speaks her mind and isn’t a fake feminist like Beyoncé and Taylor who only speak about feminism when they have something to sell

    • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler January 23, 2017

Lol Madonna drops one F-Bomb AFTER the 2016 campaign. Now all of a sudden shes a “real feminist”? Beyonce is a feminist because not only does her professional, personal and charity resume support that…BUT BECAUSE SHE SAID SHE WAS A FEMINIST!✊?

      • S****** Blonde January 23, 2017

        @Tyler
Madonna is a real feminist, the bad one, not the oppressed type, she is the epitome of a bad b****, Beyonce could never be that eloquent, she can’t express herself in such a way, Madonna practices what she preach, Beyonce does not. This is why Madonna will always be above the rest, she’s the real deal, unlike pretenders.

beyonce a feminist? lmao yeah right, she cant even spell feminist.

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler January 23, 2017

Lol @ “not the oppressed type.” Of course not. White feminism is all about taking the whip from the master’s hand and putting it in the hands of the wife.

  7. Taylor swifts number 1 fan!!! January 23, 2017

I don’t know why people bring up taylor swift… Anything to hate on Taylor..

Anyhow of course Madonna can say this stuff, she’s not worried about sales, she thrives of this kind of attention.

I do feel she should be investigated, because just cause she’s a celebrity, doesnt mean she gets a free pass to say dangerous things.

    • SMH January 23, 2017

Oh please, people were making all kinds of real & valid threats against President Obama & his family when they were in office-and they never investigated them. That orange crybaby needs to get over himself and stop being such a wuss.

    Dumb grandma

  9. dahell January 23, 2017

U cannot be serious about identify Beyoncé as a real feminist. She can be looking up to be one, but it’s clearly she isn’t arrived yet when one of her tours is named after her marriage (Mrs. Carter World Tour) or her last album is all about how “the story of black communities is full of patriarchy but I forgive my men ’cause I love him”… If you really still thinkin she’s a feminist, you should read more about what feminism is. I am a fan of Beyoncé since forever and I love her, but first I am a feminist and I only accept that discurse for entertainment purpose and because I know pop culture is based on this type of consumption. Otherwise, the feminist discurse of Madonna has been more solid on her career.
