‘The performance that shocked the world’ is no doubt how many will remember Madonna, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera‘s showing at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, this week’s classic From The Vault video. Featuring the now-infamous ‘kiss’, this medley of ‘Like A Virgin’, ‘Hollywood’, and the Missy-Elliott assisted ‘Work It’ certainly goes down in history as of music television’s most risqué moments. However, after re-watching this 7 years later, I can’t decide whether it was actually any good or just great car-crash television?!
Like most, it was awesome seeing such a celebrated artist like Madonna grace the stage with former chart-rivals Britney and Christina. However, judging by the amount of shade thrown in the audience (Mary J, 50 Cent & Eminem, Snoop…spot anymore?!) it seemed more laughable than anything else LOL. Linda Perry sat down for a very interesting interview with the New York Post recently. The famed songwriter, who was responsible for Christina Aguilera’s Pop classic ‘Beautiful’, noted that the young diva has dialed down her powerhouse vocals on her new album, ‘Bionic’. Perry contributed ‘Lift Me Up’ to the LP – a ballad that the two performed earlier this year during the ‘Hope For Haiti Now’ telethon. Check out what Perry had to say below:

As Christina Aguilera’s promotional campaign pushes ahead, a snippet of the vocal powerhouse’s new song has surfaced. The track, ‘Not Myself Tonight’, was written and produced by Polow Da Don and Ester Dean, and will be released in its entirety on March 30th. Aguilera’s new album, ‘Bionic’, drops on June 8th. Christina Aguilera sent her fans into a frenzy moments ago when she finally announced the official release date of her upcoming studio album. The LP, ‘Bionic’, will hit stores on June 8th and will be preceded by the singer’s new single, ‘Not Myself Tonight’. An exclusive preview of the Polow Da Don/Ester Dean-created track will be available on Aguilera’s official website on March 26th. The official ‘Bionic’ album cover is featured above. {Source}
Aguilera’s team certainly isn’t playing any games this time around. The mystery created by this promotional campaign has definitely created a strong buzz across the web regarding what the singer will do next. Hopefully the final product lives up to the hype and does not resemble the compost heap that was ‘Keeps Gettin’ Better’. Only 75 more days to go!

Yesterday, Christina Aguilera revealed the official cover of her soon-to-be-released track ‘Not Myself Tonight’ and promised a surprise for her fans every day this week. The song, which was written and produced by Ester Dean and Polow Da don, will be the first single to be lifted off her upcoming ‘Bionic’ LP which hits stores later this year. Pop star Christina Aguilera is prepping a return to the charts with new single ‘Not Myself Tonight’, the official first single to be lifted from her forthcoming LP ‘Bionic’. The cover for the single was accompanied by a message from the Aguilera’s team on her official site, promising fans that every day this week will bring a new surprise from the Grammy winner. A counter clock promptly went up. Exciting stuff.
About the cover…I’m not feeling it. As should always be the case though, it’s the music that counts, hence I’ll reserve any kinda judgement until hearing / seeing what Ms. Dirrty has up her sleeve. In the meanwhile…

Christina Aguilera and Cher sat down with ‘Entertainment Tonight’ to give a behind the scenes preview of their new movie ‘Burlesque’. The duo talked about their roles in the film where Aguilera plays a young singer who helps Cher with her struggling burlesque club. The film hits the big screen on November 24th.
I would be lying if I said that I was the least bit intrigued by this film. There have been at least 10 other productions with the exact same storyline and looking at the musical aspects, I have already started to get horrible flashbacks of the scream-fest that was Aguilera’s ‘Back 2 Basics’ LP. Hopefully, the movie is not as bad as it seems.
