Lil Mama On Tyra; Talks VMAs

Peep Lil’ Mama on The Tyra Banks Show earlier this week. The pint-sized star talked her role on America’s Next Top Model, however much of her airtime was dedicated to the now infamous VMA stage-crashing incident. Oh, I feel sorry for her now LMAO!

Drama! Amelle To Leave Sugababes?

Sugababes%2Bget%2Bsexy+(1) Drama! Amelle To Leave Sugababes?

UK’ers not living under a rock will be aware with the recent drama surrounding the country’s top girl group, the Sugababes. With newest member Amelle Berrabah now at the center of the latest happenings, original ‘Babe Keisha Buchanan has gone on record to say she thinks Berrabah wants to leave the group, insisting she is not the cause – as the media so ruthlessly seem intent on presenting as fact. Check out Keisha’s interview with the News of The World yesterday:
KEISHA BUCHANAN last night sobbed as she told me how missing SUGABABE AMELLE BERRABAH ducked out of last week’s gigs by claiming a pal had been in a CAR CRASH.
Giving an eXSclusive interview in her LA hotel room, Keisha broke down and wept: “We thought she was broken up about the accident and were really worried. We did two shows without her, genuinely thinking her friend’s been in a really bad car accident.
“I said to our management can we please get the police around there because I’m really, really worried about her.
“That request didn’t come from her family or (bandmate) HEIDI, it came from me. The police went round and checked on her. They said she’s fine and had been home all week.”
Yesterday Amelle, who vanished for four days, said she’d spoken to her bandmates but Keisha insisted: “She hasn’t spoken to anyone.”
Keisha, who is being comforted by close friend LEONA LEWIS in Los Angeles, says she will try and sort things out with Amelle IF she travels there to film the video for their new single this week.
“I’m not going to lie to you and say everything will be fine because I don’t know. But as far as I’m concerned, we’re the Sugababes; me, Heidi and Amelle.
“The reason why I’m panicking and the reason why I’m crying is because maybe Amelle wants to do things on her own for good.” Keisha is distraught at claims she’s jealous of Amelle’s No 1 single with TINCHY STRYDER – ironically titled Never Leave You.
And she said ex-bandmate MUTYA BUENA, who Amelle replaced, is more talented.
She said: “What exactly is there to be jealous of? I’ve been doing things on the underground for God knows how long. Heidi’s talented too. Amelle’s really talented but the most talented person I’ve ever been around in my life was Mutya.”
Keisha says Amelle, who recently dumped gypsy boyfriend Freddie Fuller, regularly went AWOL.
“Every couple of months it will happen. At certain times there are people thinking they’re bigger than the band.
“She’d blame it on Freddie, she’d blame it on her family on all sorts of things. But what’s the excuse this time?
“Maybe she doesn’t have the balls to say she wants to go.” Keisha also hit back at claims that she’s bullying Amelle out of the band: “I say what’s on our mind. But that’s not bullying.
“It’s a huge accusation to make and I’m not going to let it lie. I was f***ing bullied myself at primary school.
“She’s thinking about leaving but I’m not going to be used as the scapegoat. These things make me stronger. I’m going to use this and write a killer song and I’m going to be fine.”
Not a good look with a new single and album around the corner. That said, if they weather this, I’m sure it will play out as ‘any publicity is good publicity’.

New Song: R. Kelly – ‘Playas Get Lonely’

R. Kelly - 'Playas Get Lonely'Following the ‘Not Guilty’ verdict that was handed down in the R. Kelly trial a few weeks back, the singer is pressing ahead with the release of his new album ‘12 Play: 4th Quarter’ (due this summer). A track said to feature on the set titled ‘Playas Get Lonely’ has surfaced. I must I’m quite feeling this mid-tempo cut. Here’s hoping the album itself is pretty good, as I feel, excluding 2005’s ‘Trapped In The Closet’ episodes, Kelly’s LP’s have gotten progressively worse since TP-2.com.

New Song: Day26 – ‘Must Be Love’

Day26 - 'Must Be Love' An unreleased Day26 track, which is believed to be a left-over from their debut album, surfaced recently. Produced by Bryan Michael Cox, it’s pretty evident why ‘Must Be Love’ wasn’t included on their record – it’s a real run-of-the-mill, uninspired slow-jam. Fortunately, Cox and the Bad Boy five-piece fare better on their other joint efforts such as ‘Are We In This Together’.
In other Day26 news, the video for the guys’ long-overdue second single ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ will premiere on F’N MTV this coming Friday.

‘Exclusive: Forever Edition’ Cover

Chris Brown - 'Exclusive: Forever Edition' CoverWith the re-release of Chris Brown’s Platinum selling sophomore effort ‘Exclusive: The Forever Edition’ set to hit stores on June 3rd, the LP’s cover has surfaced. Hardly original; just a (badly) re-colored version of the initial cover. Labels and these re-releases; if they are going to churn out the same album with a few new tracks tacked on, they could at least do it properly. It seems like they went to put little funding into a project, yet want large returns. SMH…

New Song: Maroon 5 – ‘If I Ever See Your Face Again’ (ft. Rihanna)

Maroon 5 - 'If I Ever See Your Face Again' (ft. Rihanna)Rihanna has teamed up with Maroon 5 for a remake of the group’s song ‘If I Never See Your Face Again’. Surprisingly, I’m really liking the cut; Rihanna rides the beat well.
The track, for which a video was recently filmed in Los Angeles, is set for inclusion on the re-releases of Maroon 5’s LP ‘It Won’t Be Soon Before Long’ as well as Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad ( due June 17).

Tina Knowles Collapses On Set Of Beyonce Movie

Tina Knowles Collapses On Set Of Beyonce MovieBeyonce’s mother and stylist, Tina Knowles, required the attention of paramedics this week after she collapsed on the set of the star’s latest movie ‘Cadillac Records’ in new Jersey. See an extract of TMZ’s report below:

TMZ spoke exclusively to Beyonce’s father, Matthew Knowles, who said medics were called because Tina has the flu and began to experience shortness of breath. Paging Janet Jackson!

Matthew tells us Tina’s blood pressure was a little high and she was checked out by medics — but she was not transported.

West & Winehouse Added To Grammy Performers

West & Winehouse Added To Grammy Performers Grammy front-runner’s Kanye West and Amy Winehouse have been added to the list of performers at the big show on Sunday.
The Recording Academy, today, issued a press release confirming West, who is up for eight awards, will hit the stage (rumored to be tribute to his mother who passed in November).
As reported yesterday, Winehouse was denied a US visa; however organisers revealed the ‘Rehab’ singer, who is up for six awards, will perform live via satellite in a London studio. {Source}
I’m happy Amy will be able to represent herself and the UK in some capacity at the show. With both her and Kanye now on the bill, the Grammy’s are getting better and better. US visitors can catch the Grammy’s live this Sunday on CBS at 8pm / UK visitors can catch the show on ITV1 at 9pm on Monday 11th February (the next day).

Alicia Keys Joins Grammy Line-Up

Alicia Keys Joins Grammy Line-UpIt has been announced that Alicia Keys will be performing at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards on February 10th. Keys joins an already stellar line-up of performers which includes Beyonce, Rihanna, and Janet Jackson (unconfirmed).
Though I enjoyed Alicia’s latest effort ‘As I Am’, her performance isn’t one I’ll be looking out for. Granted she always gives a good performance, I’m kinda left wondering what’s the point – she’s hit the stage at every award show for the last few months now.

Marques Houston – ‘Wonderful’ Video

I’m kinda surprised Marques Houston actually managed to release a third single from his ridiculously titled album ‘Veteran’ (his last hit was…?) – especially since the CD’s first two singles tanked. However, the Ne-Yo penned ‘Wonderful’ is a great single choice, seeing as it’s one of the few standout tracks from the album. The video isn’t bad either; I’m really liking the choreography -although it’s all becoming a bit ’samey’ with Marques nowadays. To be honest, I can’t see the song/video doing anything to rescue the album (which disappeared from the charts almost as quickly as it debuted); however it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

What do you think of the video?
