FOX smash ‘Empire’ continues to deliver ratings of the epic variety.
Continuing its incredible run, the freshman series once again rose in viewership – for its ninth consecutive week.
Details below…
Last night’s episode of the Lee Daniels music drama commanded a giant audience of 14.33 million – representing a 3% increase from the March 4th episode. In the ever crucial 18-49 adult demographic, the show delivered a 5.8 rating.
The feat serves as quite the coup for cast (anchored by Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson) heading into its two-hour finale next week.

You lost me with the Ciara foolishness :-I
wow this is amazing! I wonder if there’s a record for this….
Yes. All in the Family was a January debut in 1971, starting lower, relatively speaking, than Empire — more total viewers, but a lower rating/share. The series quickly built throughout the spring and summer of 1971 and roared back to life in the fall of 1971. AITF actually ranked #1 for five consecutive seasons beginning in 1971-72 with viewer totals that would be impossible in today’s very different television universe. The Cosby Show would later tie AITF’s record for five #1 seasons. Cosby doesn’t really apply here though, b/c Cosby was an instant hit, ranking third overall its premiere week.
This show is just unconquerable success because of the honesty of the story telling. I cannot wait for it to be OFFICIALLY (lol) on South African screens
