After winning their legal battle against Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams the family of the late singer Marvin Gaye have set their sights on the creator of Fox’s ‘Empire.’

The star’s son says the concept was his idea!
Marvin Gaye III developed a TV concept named ‘Diamonds & Ballads‘ and presented the idea to a number of television executives.
What this has to do with the show’s mastermind Lee Daniels? Well, a number of these executives have close creative ties to him and are said to have been part of a plot to steal Gaye’s idea to create what fans now know to be ‘Empire.’
Daniels insists the series was inspired by Shakespeare‘s ‘King’s Lear’ but Marvin isn’t convinced and is now planning to file a lawsuit against him before the show returns to the world for a second season later on this year.
It wouldn’t be the first time the Gaye family have felt their ideas have been stolen from them.

Don’t believe everything you read. The supposed lawsuit to be hasn’t even been filed and the notion sounds ridiculous.
If Empire was a flop, nobody wouldnt be claiming it. This is like the 5th person that said Empire was about them. Somebody is lying.

Does anyone in the Gaye family work? There are easier ways to pay your bills. Get a 9-5 and leave the lawsuits alone.
Don’t dismiss the Gayes claims, remember the won the blurred lines lawsuit and rightfully so, stop attacking them for defending themselves and protecting their artistic integrity. We all no Lee Daniels is shiesty so its only a matter of times before he has to pay someone off for the ideas he stole. Now he Beyonce’d the idea (took s*** and made it a hit) but the original person still deserves credit and coins.
This is a bs story/rumor to either get publicity for the show or make the Gaye family appear sue happy or both.
