After much speculation, it has been confirmed – Beyonce will star in Disney’s live-action remake of ‘The Lion King.’

In a formal announcement, the Disney revealed that music’s reigning queen will star as Nala in the Jon Favreau production.
As widely touted, Donald Glover will top the bill as Simba, while James Earl Jones will reprise his role of his father Mufasa in the flick which arrives Summer 2019.
A host of other top-tier talents will also appear including Alfre Woodard, Chiwetel Ejifor, and Seth Rogen.

Earlier this summer, sources close to the production shared that Bey has also been tapped to executive produce and record all-new material for the soundtrack.
The diva’s previous film credits include ‘Dreamgirls’ and ‘Pink Panther.’

Beyoncé is one of the worst actresses but i can’t deny that she always chooses to be part of films that will be successful not matter what, success that won’t have nothing to do with her participation, like sequels and remakes, she can’t talk but she ain’t slick ??

Well the director is the same one who nailed Jungle Book so I have hope this will be good unlike B&TB. Agreed however on Beyoncé as even her voice acting (see ‘Epic’) leaves a lot to be desired.

I have mix feelings about this…
to me it feels like Disney sold out. Did they only higher her because of who she is? Did she even audition for this role? So many talented undiscovered black actress out there waiting for a chance and this is the route they go?
but whatever the movie will average somewhere between a 50 to 70% score on rotten tomatoes and earn back its budget and most audiences will blind praise the film but after a time it will not be remembered nor will it be considered a classic. It’s just popcorn for the moment. Thus far none of these dreadful live action remakes have been worth a damn, so why should this one be any different.
