Beyonce‘s latest studio album, ‘Cowboy Carter,’ may have made headlines for making her the first artist in history to see her first 8 albums debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, but its history-making strides certainly don’t stop there.
In addition to topping the Country Album charts (a first for any Black woman), 23 of the project’s 27 tracks landed on the Hot 100 – making the 42-year-old the first female singer of color to have over 100 career hits on the Hot 100.
And while those accomplishments are plenty to celebrate, ‘Cowboy’ also helped Queen Bey gallop across a unique historic finish line – surpassing Pop Queen Janet Jackson in the process.
Before Sunday (April 7), Jackson and Bey were tied for most #1 hits among Black women in the nearly 80-year history of Billboard’s all-genre album chart (7 each).
With the addition of ‘Cowboy,’ the latter trots ahead with her 8th chart championship.
Among all women, Bey is now fourth place on the all-time list behind Taylor Swift (13), Barbra Streisand (11), and Queen of Pop Madonna (9).

This isn’t even a contest – Janet wins. And there’s very specific reasons…
Firstly, no Janet, no Beyonce. In every way. She was a massive trailblazer.
Secondly, Beyonce is a bit phony. She wouldn’t even call herself a feminist until recently. She didn’t explicitly touch social issues until after MeToo and BLM – when it no longer possessed a commercial risk. This tells me that her decisions are commercial, not artistic. Compare this to Janet, who made a feminist statement in Reagan’s America and Rhythm Nation in the age of Whitney Houston. The Velvet Rope is still the blueprint for female pop albums. She’s far more daring, and succeeded against much bigger odds. I’m glad she’s getting some of the credit she deserves atm. That means more to me than sales, tour gross or vocals.
Janet is limited to doing MILITARY DRILL SERGENT POP MUSIC & STYLISTIC R&B which is OUTDATED & FORGETTABLE. Beyonce can do way more genres hence recent CRITIC6S ACCLAIM & Grammys.

Janet’s music, and all the music of the women on the top lists is better music than Beyonce’s. Their music is timeless. Beyonce’s is forgettable, and you outgrow it before the song even finishes.
