Kelly Rowland Performs at G-A-Y

Published: Thursday 14th Jun 2007 by Sam
Kelly Rowland performed a full set at London’s G-A-Y venue last week. The R&B star performed a number of her hits including ‘Dilemma’ and ‘Can’t Nobody’ as well as showcasing newer tracks such as ‘Flashback’, ‘Work’ and ‘Ghetto’. Seems like she did great. Check out videos of some the performances below {Thanks Andy for the vids}.

I must admit, she looks like a real performer/star right here. I don’t think the previous performances did her justice b/c they were all on a television show which is A LOT different than performing in front of hype people (i.e. a club). I see her doing very well abroad even if she doesn’t knock it out the park in the US.

I’m surprised that so many people knew the lyrics to “Flashback”. She mimed “Work (Put it in)” and “Ghetto”, but I’ll forgive her. The performances were hot. “Work” HAS to be single #2, she’d do herself a crime by not releasing it.

    hot….HOT…hot!!!!!!

Boring. Like somebody else said, it looks like a DC performance. There is nothing about Kelly that stands out.

My girl Kelly is doin it BIG… The performance of WORK is great. If she can do it like that on a stage that size just imagine what she could do with it on BET stage.

Meh. Not much there. I kinda like that Ghetto song though.

I DON’T THINK KELLY HAS HATERS. PEOPLE ARE IN HER CORNER BUT WE WANT HER TO COME WITH IT. OTHERWISE SHE CAN PUT THAT OVER THERE. LIKE HAS BEEN STATED, NOTHING NEW

I think that every1 measures all entertainers to Bey I ont see them doin it with other GREAT entertainers and she aint even at that status yet!!!!and if they dont flick over,uh-oh, wind it back etc…. like Bey then they aint doing nothn!! thats wrong every1 brings wat they bring to the table yes they were from DC so some similarities… Bey breathes being all diva like and Kelly is hot but more laid back…. She holds her ground tho far as I see it… I totally dont want her to copy Bey’s style cos then I wouldnt be a fan anymore!!!

i too was left unsatisfied by the performances. i think kelly worked best in DC only because she had to compete with someone that was forced to be a star not necessarily destined. i won’t speak of her as this post has nothing to do with ms.overexposed, yet we only compare everyone to her as she’s everywhere and not necessarily killing it. if kelly really creates herself as life is not about finding oneself, then i think the confidence will shine through but you can tell there’s an uneasiness in her about being solo esp. when shes always limited to a corner behind the dancers.

I keep noticing, that some of you keep making refrences to Bey, DC3, but the fact of the matter is, is that Beyonce is who she is because of the Matthews cut throat approach for making sure beyonce is numero uno. DC3 were her crutches and if you don’t expect to a little DC in her performance then I would think you guys are just professional haters. Granted I will admit that she isn’t super exciting, but she gives more than your average artist and that does it for me. Think out side the box people and with time, don’t expect Kelly to blow up overnight, because I don’t see her being a one hit wonder and in time hopefully some of you HateFul Critics can go get a life and stop worrying about Ms. Kelly so much, DAMN.

I love Kelly. I think everyone wants her to do so well that when she’s not bringing it like we know she can we’re diappointed. She has so much talent and personality when you read and see her in interviews you just what her to relay that in her performances.I think sometimes self doubt sets in and she stumbles, she and everyone else has to realize she’s not Bey , she’s Kelly and once she finds her own swagger she’ll do fine. On a side note she needs to lay off the workout sessions with Serena she’s starting to look a little to hard in the upper body area.
