Matthew Knowles released a statement yesterday confirming that Beyonce will, in fact, be performing at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards, which will be held Los Angeles on February 10th.“The work of The Recording Academy is vital to the music industry, and we have every intention of being with the entire music community to celebrate the Grammys’ 50th birthday in February. Beyoncé, as well as my other artists Solange and Trinitee 5:7, have been asked to participate and will do so. We have an incredible Beyoncé performance that will be announced soon. We wish the Grammys the best”.
Though I always welcome the possibility of a Beyonce performance (fans, haters etc know she always shuts it down), what has she released in the last year that warrants her performing at this year’s show? Yes, she is nominated for ‘Irreplaceable’ but come on now. She’s performed the life out of that track (which I must add was released back in 2006). It’ll be interesting to see how Solange and Trinitee 5:7 a Gospel act) are incorporated into the show as well.

It’s the 50th anniversary, Beyonce is one of few women that took home FIVE grammy’s in one night and she has a total of 10 grammy’s and she might possibly win her 11th grammy that night. She has every right to be there and celebrate. She might take part in a tribute performance why don’t we wait and see. If you don’t like it, change the channel when ol girl shows up on your screen. simple as that.

I CAN’T WAIT! This is such GREAT news! Of course I already knew this, but thanks for posting. I love Beyonce to death and won’t ever get tired of her. Then there are those people who don’t worship Beyonce like me, so they are already tired of her. Well that’s why our holy Lord God has given us the right to watch or not to watch, to listen or not to listen, to love or not to love. It’s your right, so pick one and move along!
Just the simple fact that Beyonce will be performing at this years Grammy will automatically draw more people to watch the show on February 10. So many people I know dislike big awards shows and don’t want to hear the host and celebrities adlibs, due to the “writer’s strike”. If people are going to watch the show and go through that, then the performances better be **** GOOD! And of course Beyonce’s will be.
Just like someone said above, Beyonce has TEN GRAMMY AWARDS and could win two more; plus she’s already delivered extraordinary performaces in the past, as a solo artist and as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child. As for the awards themself, well Beyonce has a good chance of winning, I mean a really good chance.
As for the song she’ll perform…it makes no difference to me. Yes indeedm she could do yet another rendition of Irreplaceable (not english, not spanish, not country, not acoustically, MAYBE a french version or a heavy metal version…LMAO!,) but she won’t. Knowing Bee, she’s probably do a classic song to celebrate its 50th B’Day or debut her 1st/buzz single.
When it comes to Ms. Kelly Rowland, maybe Matthew requested her to perform first, but they decline or maybe he doesn’t want his two biggest artist to COMPETE and perform on the same show. It is also worthy to mention that Kelly Rowland ISN’T nominated for any Grammys this year.
