Former TLC member Chilli looks set to (re)launch her solo career this year, following a botched effort early last year. The first single from the as-yet untitled set, is the aptly titled ‘Dumb Dumb Dumb’ – which was written by Cristyle the pen behind Mariah’s 18th #1 ‘Touch My Body’. While the busy production is pretty good, lyrically the song falls flat. It would seem that Chilli is trying to base this song, subject matter-wise, on the 90’s ‘guy-bashing’ craze that used to be ‘all the rage’. Granted this concept isn’t necessarily played out, it would help if the song was anywhere near good. As one of those who’ve been patiently awaiting Chilli’s solo material, this -as well as her other efforts (shudders at the thought of ‘Straight Jack’) have been real disappointing. It kinda has me thinking that the idea of Chilli ever going solo should have been left in the 90’s – a time when I feel she could have feasibly had any success. {Thanks Andy}Hit or Miss?

yeah i mean Left Eye was the greatest part of TLC
but…she is gone (may God rest her soul), TLC did have 2 other talented ladies in the group, and I think that Chilli is the forefront of that 2 talented ladies…

“lyrically the song falls flat”
Could say the same thing about “Love in the Club and Touch My Body” but it defitnitely a hit. I Love it even though the lyrics are Dumb..dumb…dumb.
I like this, but not as much as Glidin, Gameproof & Straight Jack. I really think she could be successful as a solo artist as she already has a fanbase from TLC that wants her to succeed.
I actually really love this song. The beat is on point, her vocals are not falling flat at all. I love the singing style actually.

What Chilli needs to do, is break those TLC chains and be CHILLI, because this sounds more like a TLC song than a Chilli song. Just like all her other ones.

i have been a TLC fan since like 95 when waterfalls hit the scene. and then i brought crazysexycool and fell deeply in love with these ladies. i mean i went back and purchased oooohhh… on the TLC tip. i am still a hardcore fan of TLC they are the ultimate no girl group will ever replace them they are different and 3 girls who looked way different from eachother but yet still looked awesome together. back to the song. This song isn’t a bad song i am not in love with it but i like it. to me i think she need to reach out to people like babyface, dallas austin, and jermaine dupree for material. i have yet to hear a slow song from her. she is 36 and looks 21. she has what it takes to make it to the top she jus needs to create a gimmick and jus kill it. she can dance her ass off we all know she can sing, songs like “take out time”, “red light special”, “come on down” the entire “ooooh on the tlc tip album” i want to hear a song where she jus sings her heart out and to me babyface is the one who can bring that out of her, or dallas austin.

Actually, I love this song and I think Chilli is awesome. As a TLC fan, I love them all but Chilli has got it going on with everything she’s done and T-Boz as well.
Overall, Chilli i am proud of you and can’t wait till the album drops and pray you keep them coming! love ya and that song is the BOMB girl! in a HOT way! 🙂
