Some of you may remember ‘Supernatural’; indeed, the track, which surfaced a few months back, is slated to feature on Ciara’s forthcoming LP ‘Fantasy Ride’. Interestingly, Mary J. Blige has put her own spin on the song, which surfaced today. Though Mary’s version is far from poor, it surprisingly doesn’t offer much in the way of improving on the original; if anything, Ciara’s offering (which you can listen to below) is better IMO.Hit or Miss?

Mary’s is obviously a demo.. We never know who recorded it first???? I too think Ciara’s voice is more suited.. but IMO this is a weak song anyway.. It flatlines and goes nowhere! Most of the time when there are multiple versions of a song floating around, it won’t be included. They have pushed Ciara’s album back, so i’m thinking she is still recording material to choose from.
Ciara’s way better, she got that s*** and smooth voice perfect for the song, Mary, even tho i love her too, she sounds like out of place

clearly ciara’s voice is more suited for this. it gives a sweet and sensual vibe which also goes with the lyrics. mary is more for the angry and overbearing tone and lyrics.

It’s so obvious the Mary’s version is a demo. The lyrics are slightly different too. The song may have been shopped to a few different artists. It may have been given to Mary for her most recent album but ultimately passed on. Ne-yo did some work on the last project so it doesn’t sound far fetched.
Mary sucks anyway and has for a long time.
Mary!!!! Never cared for Ciara’s childish voice. IT does sound like an old demo that wasn’t perfected yet by Mary. But it’s a big NO for CICI! Get voice lessons and try again.
I knu there were gonna b Ciara haters on here who obviously ingorned the obvious. Yet again comparing voices on a song when really if they had an EAR for music they would recognize that Ciara's voice fits this song naturally, Mary's does not. Not that Mary can't sing, i wouldnt dare say that, but she kinda oversings to point to where all you can hear is her voice. With Ciara's version, the song & her voice match toe 2 toe. She's not over singing & the beat is not tuning her out. Ciara's version is way better… END OF STORY!!!!

The lightness of Ciara’s voice sounds better on a couple parts, but in other sections it sounds a bit childish and not up to par with the more refined tone which Mary brings. Now, having said that, the song itself is lame and not worthy of either artist IMO.
