That Grape Juice Remembers Aaliyah

Published: Monday 25th Aug 2008 by Sam
Today marks 7 years since the tragic passing R&B star Aaliyah. As I am sure many of you know, at the tender age of 22, Aaliyah died in a plane accident in the Bahamas – an accident that claimed the life of 7 of her friends and workers.
Despite her short time on this earth, Aaliyah’s impact and lasting legacy stand as a testament to her undeniable talent.
Peep one of my favourite Aaliyah songs/videos ‘More Than A Woman’ below:

Rest In Peace

Today, we see Aaliyah’s style in many of the new female singers. She was indeed a very talented woman who was subtle with her s** appeal. All you saw was her natural beauty and charm. God bless you Aaliyah. We love you.

Today first day back on college campus I wore my hand painted Aaliyah shirt where her image took up the entire front of the T-Shirt had everyone looking at it saying how beautiful she was, even old people that dont know who she is. I miss you baby girl!

Aaliyah was a truly talented individual. I mean she had such grace when she moved she made it looks so easy. Her style was s*** but subtle. I really miss her and I really miss her videos. How many of us tried to learn the dance steps to her videos? lol I had Are You That Somebody down lol.
Rest in Peace and we miss you in Detroit!

It was something so amazing about her. She could sing and dance something most artists today can only do one or the other. Her style and look was exotic, mysterious, s***, but tom boyish all in one look. She truly had IT!!!

As I look back On the past 7 years I can’t help but wonder what impact our Baby Girl would have mad on this industry n world. She has definately made her mark on this world n in the music biz. I swear I c her everyday on television. How many more movies would there have been? Albums? Soundtrack singles?(she was the Queen). I even wonder if she would have played Dina rather than Beyonce. lol Don’t get mad just my thoughts. I honestly feel as though if Aaliyah were still alive there would be a many of a female Artist of 2day who wouldn’t exist. She was different, never copied or bit off of anyone n she constantly pushed the envelpoe of createtivity. So I pay Homage. I Love u LIYAH
    RIP

    @ Nothing But Love…

People was (and still is) sleeping on “Street Thing,” that’s one of my favorite jams. And “It’s Whatever,” from the ‘Aaliyah’ album was on point.

Man I miss the good old days. I can only imagine where she would have evolved to musically. The work she did on ‘Aaliyah’ was such a huge step from all of her previous material.

I can actually say (and not saying it out of respect for the deceased)she was one of the best who ever did it. We miss you baby girl!
