It seems the ‘beef’ between Kanye West and 50 Cent, which culminated in Kanye’s ‘Graduation’ besting ‘The Massacre’ last September, has been reignited as both rappers prep new albums. Check out Kanye’s latest blog which takes jibes at the G-Unit general – who rubbished Ye’s latest single ‘Love Lockdown’ (click here to watch 50 ‘performing’ the song): just woke up from a quick studio nap… I’ve been workin’ on 808s and Heartbreak about 16 hrs a day and Superman passed out for a little bit… I’m in hawaii but I’m still on NY time so I wake up mad early, do some business, blog, jog for an hour, play ball, eat and then hit the stu by noon. While approving the final cut for the Love Lockdown vid, I marvel at the fact that it was written less than 3 weeks ago. I’m very excited about the everything… I guarantee this will be 50’s favorite album of mine. This will be gangster’s album of the year. {Source}

LoL clearly ashley you are one side minded and don’t know the facts that your spittin. All of Ye’s albums have done extremely well and no one is checkin for 50 anymore…don’t be mad. Do ya homework cause 50 is checkin for Kanye…why was he rapping to Kanye’s new song?

– First week album sales of 957,000 copies for Graduation and as of August 2008 the album has sold 3.1 million, not to mention he also won 3 Grammys for this album
– Late Registration sold 860,000 first week and to date has sold over 3.5 million copies.
All this is to say obviously Kanye gets better over time, 50 started strong and fell off horribly. If you need more stats to make 50 look even worse. I got u.

Am I the only one a little tired of the 50 vs. Kanye thing? I mean, 50 lost plain and simple. Regardless of the last “challenge” they had, they’re both big enough artists that all of us will probably still buy (or at least burn) their new stuff whether they drop on the same date or not.
I won’t be getting 50’s as I never have but I will definitely be getting that Kanye. It comes out on my B-day too! 50 was supposed to retire after the last defeat. What happened to that?
