As reported late last month, Grammy award winning star Toni Braxton enlisted super producer Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins for the lead single from her forthcoming Atlantic Records debut. It has now been confirmed in the latest issue of Jet Magazine that the title of the track is ‘Get Loose’. The song is expected to impact radio very soon.
Apart from her ‘More Than A Woman’ LP, Toni has been really consistent with her releases this decade (‘Libra’ is the business!). So I’m most certainly looking forward to this.
Randomness: Being a bit presumptuous, the track sounds like it’ll be an uptempo, which is interesting as Toni has stressed in recent times that she would be ditching the Pop/current R&B for her ‘classic R&B’ sound. I guess time will tell. I’m up for more Toni, whatever the case.
Your thoughts?
I can’t wait for her return! Go Toni!
toni is my girl! i really wish her well.
Very exciting!
ALLL OF TONIS ALBUMS have BEEN GREAT (more than a woman has GREAT songs on it) man, TONI is fire, BUT like good things that coem to an end, her time will b up too (shes 1 of my TOP singers) I LOVE HER, WILL SUPPORT HER, BUT BLACK FOLKS cheap & burn cds now-a-days, aint got Itunes, so she doomed, like my girl Brandy (GREAT MUSIC) BUT no support, its saddd…
Well it sounds uptempo/midtempo. He Wasn’t Man Enough, uptempo/great song. You Makin Me high, midtempo/great song. Please, midtempo/great song. I mean however it’ll sound I’m sure it’ll be great. And just cause this may be uptempo, doesn’t mean the whole album will be. She’ll probably have like 2 or 3 dance songs and the rest ballads. I got faith in her all the way.
I’m waiting! Toni has been consistent and good for years but all we keep getting forced down our necks is medioca Beyonce! i’m still listening to all of Toni’s albums and Take This Ring is still my jam!
I like Toni but I’m not looking forward to a comeback…
I don't see the problem with her doing uptempo songs. I enjoy them, but I think she should focus more on the classic love ballads with live band production she used to do. No too many people seem to be really doing much of that anymore. A lot of R&B singers are relying to much on beat machines rather live production, which is why so much stuff is sounding the same. I hope Toni will be leaning more toward that direction. Anyway, I love her and I wish her much success on this project.
Well, I am in favor of her return and hoping she can produce songs that rival either the Secrets or the Libra album. I remember listening to Secrets all day everyday. That is her best.
