The video for Brandy’s latest single ‘Long Distance’ finally made its long-awaited debut today. Having not initially gravitated toward the song, it seems to be all I’m blasting on my iPod these days. An absolutely amazing track. Definitely a grower. About the video, it really captures the essence of the song. I must say though, had that colour not broken in at the exact time it did, I’d be typing a very different review, as I admittedly was getting a lil bored. All in all a great song and an equally as good video.
‘Long Distance’ is lifted from Brandy’s forthcoming album ‘Human’, which hits stores December 9th.

I'm so glad she's back. This girl has a way of winning people over. I say that because I remember when she first hit the music scene. Her music was cute and catchy,but a little too bubblegum and her industry adversary Monica was edgier and more soulful. Both girls were young. Both girls were beautiful. Both girls were black and both girls were hitmakers. So naturally the industry had to pit the two against each other and I was team Monica. I didn't have anything against Brandy,but Monica was IT for me. Now that I've grown up I realize that two women can be fabulous at the same time in different ways and that it's senseless to make artist compete because of how much they have in common,which we essentially do to ALL artist. Now I appreciate Brandy's music. After all I grew up with it. I purchased Brandy's "Best of" compilation about two maybe three years ago;and I love it. It's funny to be able to say,"that song was hot back when I was…" Any who,"Human" will be the first Brandy LP that I'll be purchasing. I have Monica's first three albums and I can't wait for her most recent effort to hit stores. I'm happy to see both these women back. They are truely two of R&B's best. Now I can say in one breath,I love Monica AND Brandy without wincing a bit.
