The video for ‘Right To Dream’, the signature song from Mariah Carey’s new movie ‘Tennessee’, premiered within the last hour. Carey co-wrote the cut with legend Willie Nelson specifically for the movie – clips of which make up the music video, as well as footage of Mariah in the studio recording the track.
While Mariah turns in a good vocal performance on the track, I can’t say it moves me in anyway, same with the video. Tennessee’ hits theatres in the US later this month.
What do you think of the song / video?
movie looks boring ta me…love da song…mariah wit braids??? lmao
the song sounds like something she’s already done on many of her previous LP’s. But im goin’ to try and stay open-minded about her acting in this new film until i see it for myself. “Tennessee” was at 1st suppose to star Janet. But like i said I will wait and give my opinion on Mariah’s acting ability in this film.
Vocally Mariah owns this song. But the video and the movie just seems boring. I guess when im watching the full movie it’ll be something great!

Vocally I think Mimi did the song justice, seems more AC an area of music she has done before. Also for the style of music her tone and vocals fit.
The song is decent. Don’t care about the video..
I lovee this songggggggggggggg
the music video isn’t that special because it’s not supposed to be LOL
But Mariah did a beautiful job!
If you can relate to the lyrics, this song WILL move you!
People, Mariah is singing this song as the character she’s portraying. It’s supposed so be AC with elements of country.
This song made me impatient, I cannot wait to see the movie. Just one word – brilliant.
The song is from the perspective of the character…Not Mariah!!! Either way…it’s AMAZING!!!! Can’t wait to see the movie, the critics said it was sooo good that it started off as an indpendent film and just HAD to go to the big screen…WOW, this gotta be good!!!
yeah the song seems like something she sang back in the day and i would love to see more of the movie.
It’s not possible in any way not to be moved by this song and video…
If you’ve had rough times in your life, if you’ve been in love with somebody and not getting anything in return, if you’ve had nights lying lonely and sad in bed… and still you knew that you were going to live through this and get back on top…
