Sounds interesting, full of different shades (Pop, rock R’nB), seems well balanced (mid tempo, uptempo) and not as dark as I thought it would be. From what I’ve heard Rihanna’s vocals have improved, she’s trying to use a deeper voice when she sings which apparently suits her.
For the rest, it might be too soon to say anything more

  2. Sha November 12, 2009

    Miss :o(

  3. Travis November 12, 2009

The songs appear to be less catchy than Good Girl Gone Bad

STUPID IN LOVE sounds gud and maybe RUDE BOY!i hate RUSSIAN ROULETTE….and to say it sounds lik one of the better songs…..is a mess

but i’ll save my opinion entirely for l8r!

  5. wtf November 12, 2009

to late….perez already preached that it is bad..that cant hide it forever..when sam says gggb was a fluke y’all should have listened..even with all the lies she told, its not gonna make people buy her trash..smh..you get what you dish out i suppose…

cant wait for graffii……talent always outshines b*******!! DEC 8 baby.. yessir!!

  6. parisian girl November 12, 2009

    rude boy
    photograph
    mad house sound interesting
but ther are too much ballads!

  7. Jr November 12, 2009

From GGGB to this crap? What is Def Jam thinking?

  8. whystillinbusiness November 12, 2009

Miss, Perez is not filling riri’s creativity this go round..

  9. Habib November 12, 2009

    that’s a mess

  10. bobs November 12, 2009

Listen lame asses, go back to your Mylie Cyrus and Whitney Houston crap, this album is THE S***!!! I can’t stop listening to Hard, Wait Your Turn, and RR. Amazing album.

  11. GeeMan November 12, 2009

Sorry but other then hard with Jeezy nothing else is capturing my attention. Too many ballads and honestly even though her voice is better she is not the typical ballad single and the production seems bland and weak. But I do see the album being a success based the drama surrounding Ms. Fenty nowadays. Scandal sells over pure talent and hard work in today”s industry. Only a select few with talent are able to sell based on product.

  12. DanniB_ November 12, 2009

let me just say..that first track sounds like some shiesty s*** is going on in the backround..I need that to be analyzed and played backwards before I can listen to it again..

you guys already know im not feeling it. she’s neither hard, nor a rockstar, nor is she going to play russian roulette unless it means more press. sit down, Goku.

  13. bobs November 12, 2009

It wasn’t until Take A Bow, Disturbia, Run This Town, Live Your Life (Her biggest hits beside Umbrella) that I really started to love her music – and she’s bringing those vibes full force on this album. More power to her. She is doing something different, and lame cookie cutter b****** (like some commenters here) just want the generic crap. Some people are just rude and rotten and love to see someone on their knees.

  14. DanniB_ November 12, 2009

though I’ve always liked Te amo…its got little to do with her and that come again go again accent..

  15. Bobby from Bulgaria November 12, 2009

So much better than Beyonce… 🙂

    -Bobby from Bulgaria-

  16. parisian girl November 12, 2009

bobby you like drama too much!just post your post about the preview and shut up,no need to start fight here

  17. Nye November 12, 2009

    Umm…Rude Boy is SINGLE worthy
    Rockstar is hot
    Mad House is hot!!!
…this album seems different, edgy and very balanced!!! It’s very alternative…this album is solid

  18. Bobby from Bulgaria November 12, 2009

Well, that was for Sam… Ha ha… 🙂

  19. Alex November 12, 2009

F*** what Perez says this sounds very promising. Am I the only one that was surprised by Fire Bomb?

  20. Anon November 12, 2009

“Rude Boy” sounds really good – I can’t stop listening to that clip of it. I hope it’s a single!
“Te Amo” which leaked long ago also sounds like a hit, I love it.
Seems a little too ballad-heavy, but “Cold Case Love” sounded really promising.

Why would anyone listen to what Perez says about an album, good or bad? Perez has weak taste in music and he’s full of s*** anyway.

Overall: Sounds worse than GGGB, but that album was like 10 straight hits, so it would be hard to try and top anyway. This is going in a different direction, which I think is a good move.

  21. wtf November 12, 2009

ok listened to the snippets..this has got to be one of the worst worst cd’s of the year…disaster….she had the opportunity and thought people would eat up her garbage..if she does better than mariah then good luck..worst move dej jam could ever make..this girl has not talent and they cannot afford a slip up..well that is what you get when you think you are beyonce or gaga who keep pusing to the next level..smh.. well aleast gaga does and bey just has the machine called mathew who keeps slaying them…if jay said this was great then i have to believe people who say he is good at managing jay and no one else…def jam to just shelve this and try again next year..or better yet just out remixes like they always do..even with all the sympathy she will never ever again reach gggb success.it sure indeed was a fluke..never doubted you sam when u said that….

  22. Kirk November 12, 2009

    Miss. Her eyes were closed.

  23. swaggedupstud November 12, 2009

okay from the clips i like what i heard but i wont be buying it ill jus download it for free but u cant jus go off of the clips alone i gotta hear the whole songs but i like mad house, hard, stupid in love, rockstar 101, russian roulette, fire bomb, rude boy and more but ill jus download it from limewire for free

  24. TJ November 12, 2009

This sounds ify. I won’t discount this CD.. but I can say it’s not jumping out at me like her previous efforts. Rhianna is not a SINGER… she just makes catchy music. What I will probably do is end up buying the songs I want off of amazon which right now only seems like 3-4 of them and calling it a day. I’m really looking forward to Chris Brown’s CD.

  25. Nicky November 12, 2009

PEREZ IS WHAT WE CALL A FAT FAKE F** =FFF

LADY GAGA COMES OUT THE SAME DAY.
HE’S JUST TRYING TO SABOTAGE RIHANNA IN ORDER FOR LADY GAGA TO DO WELL. ITS A LAME P**** MOVE.

BUT WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM A FLAMING F***** TO BEGIN WITH?

HIS ASS GOT BEAT BY WILLIAM FOR TALKING S*** WHEN WILLIAM AND BEP MAKING HIT AFTER HIT

Perez Hilton may be a popular blogger — but he knows LITTLE about music and people’s interests. His signee Sliimy has made no ground in the States, his tour has barely sold the majority of its tickets, and he clings onto Lady Gaga as though her fame was entirely due to him. Sure, he increased exposure of Lady Gaga, but nobody can deny the pieces to the puzzle were not only seeded with him. He didn’t discover her, he didn’t produce or have any input in the recording of her music, and she blew up onto the scene due to a wave of Christmas shoppers with loaded iTunes cards and nothing to buy (‘Just Dance’ had already been a hit before Christmastime, looming in the iTunes and Billboard top 40, and was simply boosted by Christmas-sales).

Perez Hilton has no proper say or input in the power of music. Much of his criticism has been hit and miss. Though I respect him as a blogger, he really has no sense of music.

…kind of like Sam and Trent…

  27. San November 12, 2009

I just wanna say Congrats to RiRi for officially making the top 10 with RR! Hows that for stalling Trent/Sam!

  28. Trevez November 12, 2009

Whats with this moody ass CD. *cancels pre-order w/ the quickness* However I do appreciate that her vocals are improving.

  29. leah November 12, 2009

Rated R is now #57 on Itunes album charts- the album seems to fall with every new release or leak. It should trend back up after the album tomorrow or….

  30. Hendrix November 12, 2009

I need for Rihanna to do something. Those lackluster vocals aren’t working anymore. I’m one for somewhat meaningless, fun pop albums but after this, I’m convinced that this girl has no idea who she is. Maybe I’m judging it too soon. I REALLY hope so but I doubt it.

  31. Marcus November 13, 2009

Too many ballads for my liking…Miss SO FAR…It might grow on me….

  32. Trevez November 13, 2009

It might grow on me, but I have never and never will buy an Rihanna LP.

  33. Great November 13, 2009

i like most of the songs cold case love and fire bomb are my favourites they are great 10000000000000000 times better than beyonce …. you can go home with your sasha fierce thing.

I like the album soooo much that will be her best album ever .. I’ll buy the album of course.

    (just g4l is worse):
