As celebrities prepare to perform on this evening’s ‘Hope for Haiti Now’ concert, reports have surfaced that Simon Cowell is planning a tribute of his own. Billboard.com confirms that the ‘American Idol’ judge is working on a charity single to benefit the Caribbean nation which will feature Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle and Cheryl Cole. The Sun goes further, noting that Beyonce, Lady GaGa, Robbie Williams and Wyclef Jean will also be involved. Here is what Cowell had to say about the project:

“I wanted to do something for Haiti so when I had calls from The Sun and the Prime Minister asking if I would get involved I agreed immediately. We are going to do a single. We only made the decision today. I have got to get it together in 48 hours.”

Cheryl Cole said: “I would be happy to lend my support.”

Last night Simon started work at the National Television Awards spreading word about our plans. And he will urge record labels to get top artists involved.

I knew it was only a matter of time before charity single came about. I always enjoy these types of projects because they allow celebrities the opportunity to lend their voices to something that benefits others. I am eager to see who else is added to the list!

I don’t think Beyonce is taking part at all. The latest information is these are confirmed:

dickhead above me. even if you hate “rihoenna” as you say and if the new charity single puts it to shame, at least she’s doing something to benefit haiti. just think that, what are you doing, sitting here hating, get a life!

  5. shelly-chelle January 22, 2010

I hope that Haiti actually reaps the benefits of all this
    because charities and organizations can
    be low down and dirty

  12. Ivy1908 January 22, 2010

@Dont Take Shyt, you are so right. There are a lot of scams out here, and Haiti needs every little bit they can get right now.

  13. dont take shyt January 22, 2010

I dont believe that beyonce will be on a track with
    TWO power houses

  14. MushyLove_1992 January 22, 2010

  15. blasian January 22, 2010

  16. anonymouss January 22, 2010

its gon be a british party!
and why does simon keep bringing cheryl cole everywhere he goes? is he f****** her or sumthing? cuz frankly she is NOT that talented…he would kick her off his show if she ever auditioned!

  17. Oh Please January 22, 2010

The pic is nice, but that’s it. It’s nice, nothing more. She is not serving it. Beyonce tries so hard to be high fashion but it just does not work for her. She may be Sasha Fierce on stage but she is hardly ever fierce in her photos. No top model for you Beyonce.

  18. Rihanna Flop January 22, 2010

anything involving beyonce, im all for it

talentless h** rihanna, not so much
shes only good for getting naked, not taking stage

  19. Nique January 22, 2010

If that c****** slingin’ weave throwa does this, it’s only because Kelly said she wanted to work with Susan. I hate that. She always tries to do something first. Selfish B****

  20. Rihanna Flop January 22, 2010

and god bless those ppl in Haiti

  21. JezzyBaby January 22, 2010

The charts has proven that Beyonce and Lady Gaga isn’t a good combination. Next…

  22. Boricua January 22, 2010

    The Sun? Really??

  23. Dilla January 22, 2010

Wow this should be very interesting. Susan Boyle has a golden voice, so I don’t know how that’s gonna work, but I definitely think it’s an interesting combination.

  24. RIHANNA IS A LIAR AND NEEDS TO BE EXPOSED! January 22, 2010

BEYONCE ONCE AGAIN STEALS KELLY’S THUNDER!!!

KELLY ROWLAND IS SUPPOSED TO RECORD A SONG WITH SUSAN BOYLE!!!! NOW BEYONCE’ IS BEATING HER TO THE PUNCH BY USING HER MUSCLE! DO YALL SEE THIS? HOW CAN YALL BE OKAY WITH THIS?

BEYONCE IS TALENTED! IW ILL NEVER TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM HER TALENT! HOWEVER, SHE IS A SELF CENTERED, GLORY HOGGIN TRAMP! SHE KNOWS KELLY IS RECORDING WITH SUBO! WHY WOULD BEYONCE’ STEAL THE ONE THING KELLY ROWLAND WAS GONNA HAVE?

    #FOUL

IM SURE THE STANS WILL MAKE A HURD OF EXCUSES FOR THIS W****, BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

    BEYONCE… #SITYOAZZDOWN

  25. Tha Phoenix January 22, 2010

to be honest, the support is appreciated and it is soo nice of them to help… but i hate the way people like SIMON COWELL take advantage of these kind of situations and use them as oppurtunities to boost their own profile and PRETEND that they are actually doing it because they GENUINELY CARE! pssshhttt! AS IF?
still the money will go to a good cause and either way its a win win situation so i’m happy =)

  26. sk8erboi January 22, 2010

the song is confirmed to be a cover of classic “Everybody Hurts” by REM

  27. Blaqscorpio January 22, 2010

@JezzyBaby, LMFAO! Chech back in a month or so, I gaurantee you’ll be eating your words! WITHOUT a video or the song being officially released, Telephone is already in BB top 20!

  28. KathyM January 22, 2010

Look, even if you’re not thrilled with everyone that’s going to help make this record, remember they’re doing it for free and for a good cause.
It’s going to be a group effort and Brown has said that none of the money will be taxed, so the UK won’t make a dime from this, it’s ALL going to help the starving and helpless people of Haiti.
It’s going to cost less than you’d pay for a nice lunch, so stop worrying about meaningless things like whose voice you like or don’t like. Give them credit for helping, and join them for a good cause.
