Our girl Kelly Rowland took to the stage at will.i.am‘s ‘Dip Dive’ pre-Grammy party earlier this week. The singer, who is set to officially announce her new record deal with Universal Motown at any moment now, performed her worldwide smash ‘When Love Takes Over’ with DJ David Guetta.
Ms. Kelly really has been knocking it out the park with her most recent performance, with this being no different. Her vocals were powerful and overly on-point. Great performance!

Even when her voice is not 100% the girl still shuts it down. Her natural presence. Her energy. Her realness. Her SANGIN. There is so much about Kelly to appreciate. She’s been working very hard and her voice is obviously and understandably tired, YET she still tore this song up. There aren’t many artist who can sound good even on a bad day. Only the ones with actual talent and Kelly certainly has that. This may not be her best but the fact that it’s not her best and it’s still good means that her best is and will be outstanding.

I’m sorry, but what the heck is yall smokin’ on. Not to be rude but…. this performance was jacked up. I don’t want to put Beyonce in this conversation but I gotta, Kelly is so worked up on trying to attain what Beyonce does vocally and performance wise that she is messing up her own performances. People truly wonder why she is not successful as B…. its because Kelly is not all that great of singer. Yall know its true. Don’t get me wrong though, some “singers” do manage to squeak by… Cassie, Britney Spears, Rihanna, & Kesha, Keri Hilson too (yes I said it!)…. the list goes on. Regardless I’m still a Kelly Rowland fan always have and always will be. But for reals, this girl cannot sing as well as she thinks she can.
P.S. – It don’t matter how much passion she has, if she can’t sing she can’t sing. She can still work in the music industry ( producer, writer etc.) just not as a singer. I just don’t think Kelly was meant to be a solo star… her voice sounds much better when she’s in a group.
