The Youtube Community have come together for their own unique spin on Quincy Jones’ ‘We Are The World 25 For Haiti’. Featuring some of the popular site’s biggest artists and cover acts, this Web 2.0 take on the song, is better than the 2010 Biber, Kanye, J.Hudson et al remake (which in itself was a very commendable effort). Awesome stuff!
this is a great yet creative rendition! I luv it.
I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE this. Truth be told, I’m probably the only person that doesn’t really like that version that Wyclef and them made. All of them sound SOOOO beautiful. It really moved me.
beautiful! this is so much better than that hot mess those celebs produced!
flop but better then the other flop
That was so touching and beautiful I practically cried 🙁 Everyone voices blended so well
I definitely liked this one better than the wyclef version
I think its extremely sad that a whole grip of famous singers couldn’t produce anything to this caliber :/ This is quite gorgeous.
Also, enough about Haiti already.
I’m pretty sure that America’s drenched it in money to the point where no one has to worry about it for a while. We should put that sort of effort into helping the people in our own country. That also goes for others internationally.
Haiti is becoming so over hyped.
Its just as raw over here when it comes to poverty, death and sickness.
We’re going backwards.
It’s excellent that we’re showing compassion, but we should also be treating our own people with that sort of dedication and kindness as well..
Wtf?
BETTER THAN THAT WYCLEF FOOLISHNESS!!! NOT BAD… CANT STAND THAT 3RD WHITE DUDE FROM THE BEGINNING. HE RUINS IT. KICK HIM OUT AND IT’S WHOLE LOT BETTER.
@KAMI. YOU’RE 110% CORRECT. OBAMA’S BLACK. THAT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT. SMH. TRUTH.
I LIKE THIS 1 BETTA DEN THE 1 WITH THE CELEBRITIES LMAOOO…….HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD THIS
My computer has some sort of problems that i can’t watch this vid.
Can anyone tell me who are the new singers that have been added???????
Are brandy, gaga, bey, toni b. , snoop dog, Nicole s. , mariah as a part of this?????????
What the f***??
I hope U got what theF i typed! LOL!
What does Obama being black have anything to do with it?
And if anything, he’s a mixed race 😐
It’s good for what they had to work with… but to say that this was better than the professionally produced version where the artists were, for the most part, actually in the same room as each other, is not the truth and y’all know it.
Some of their harmonies suffered because they were unable to hear each other in real time and the sound quality for many of the solos was poor.
It’s a good effort though, and commendable.
“We should put that sort of effort into helping the people in our own country.”
Okay, so over 200,000 people died in the Haiti quakes. If you combine the Vietnam War (I wanna say like 50,000, but I’m not 100%), 9/11 (like 3000), and Katrina (it’s less than 9/11), that’s not even close to Haiti’s death toll. It’s not like once the telethons are over, Haiti suddenly becomes rainbows and roses. They’re pretty much rebuilding an entire goddamn country, a country that shouldn’t have been in as bad a shape as it was before the quake even hit.
Oh, and we have charities in America.
If you’re so concerned, how much have you donated to the Red Cross, ASPCA, etc.?
How much time have you spent trying to make this country better?
Or do you just sit on your ass and b**** about this on a gossip blog so you can come off like the pompous windbag that you more than likely are?
So much ignorance in the world, it’s insane.
It has nothing to do with Obama being of mixed race, it has to do with Obama having a heart. Bush sat on his thumbs with Katrina and got criticized (rightfully); Obama helps a country devastated by natural disaster and it’s because he’s black? Get the f*** out of here and get into the classroom, please.
Here’s a list of the aid that other countries are providing to Haiti
It’s from around the time the quake hit, but you get the idea
America is the one of the richest countries in the world, so why shouldn’t we help
http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2010/jan/14/haiti-quake-aid-pledges-country-donations
I’m a huge fan of Lisa Lavie (the chick who did Cyndi Lauper/Celine Dion’s part, “yea yea yea yea”). You can tell that she was best placed in that vocally demanding part of the song. That girl needs to have a record deal. Seriously.
I love Amir! Those boys can sang!
@…
Lovely post.
It is so sad to see these annoying american nacionalists talking s***, yes you have poor people in your country, yes you have problems in your country to solve but you are in the f****** most powerful country in the world, your life may be miserable but you always have someone or something to help you, it is sad to see someone complaining when other people are being helped. Haiti was miserable before and the earthquake just made things get worse.
“Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace ” – Sir John f****** Lennon.
Stop listening to the b******* you listen too, get some culture while listening to music, we the human race, we are one, there aint american people, haitian people, african, white, black, we are one, one race, we have to help each other.
ON TOPIC : This version is so much better then that b*******, maybe MJ will rest in peace now since he was rolling in his grave when that s*** was made
Gonna add this to my favorites. It’s nice to see even after the song coming out 25 years ago it’s still keeping michael and charity in mind.
12345 you betta PREACH!!!
Damn Michael gotta be turnung in his grave! He’d LOVE this! This is way better then the 2010 version! The emotion is RAW and their effort is sincere!
Relax. I was just saying that I find it sad that we can’t have this strong ‘coming together’ and consistent amount of unity and support for one another, disregarding differences here. Whereas, when there’s suddenly a random tragedy across the globe, its amazing to see newfound compassion for strangers.
You read too much into what i was saying.
I wasn’t saying to ignore people in need. I said that the support4Haiti is getting to the point where its becoming more of a fad in the media, when I doubt that some percentage of them actually care. A good bulk of them do, but people also do things for publicity as well. Then once again, wondering as to why you don’t see that raw show of emotions televised and shown in the mainstream that often here with people and organizations. They obviously exist, but they rarely reach the compassionate caliber as a tragedy across the globe does in terms of exposure.
i don’t say that to seem nationalistic. I was spiking it because I found it extremely ironic.
Also, just to take a s*** since “…” chose to bring in statistics —
Around 3,000,000 people die in the US every year.
So I can only assume that every life is just as important as the next.
There are obviously more people that die per year in Africa, so this isn’t a matter of who has the most laying dead.
Once again,
Its a matter of me choosing to point out that i think that there should be some sort of balance when it comes to helping people during crises. We have to consider that human beings endure all sorts of torture and if we’re sensitive to one group, then it seems as though we’re turning our backs on everyone else.
co-signing wtih …
how can anyone say Haiti is over-hyped? They should’ve have had this much attention even BEFORE the disaster. Times like these make me happy to live in America.
I love this version.
/You can say that Haiti is over hyped when you have other countries that go through that many people getting killed every few months to a year when there isn’t a need for a natural disaster to echo across the globe.
Take care of Haiti,
but also try to worry about everyone else.
People dying in an earth quake
People getting incapacitated
People dying from abandonment and starvation
People dying because of incurable diseases.
It’s all the same thing.
If this type of exposure was a monthly thing to other places in need, then I wouldn’t find it so disturbing that people focus on one thing, but try to make it seem as though the rest of the world can also manage because the exposure is so biased and limited.
This is ironic because why does America express its compassion for those less fortunate yet it not yet shown that much of an impacting and yet progressive step for itself as a nation?
Aren’t we struggling right now? Aren’t we suffering but seem to carry ourselves so well it doesn’t show? Great we’re supporting, but what “extra funds” does ANYONE have lying around to just hand out? Its pretty ironic. Its just like living at home and you have to pay the electric bill before they shut it off the following week.
Take care of the home first. If you don’t you’d be putting yourself in the same situation, UNLESS you find the balance to give and still managing to keep up with yourself and your situation, mainly US helping THEM.
Also, don’t try to use the ‘OMG AMERICA IS SO RICH’ – excuse, either because we borrow all of our money from China 😐
It isn’t even a recession. It’s actually a Depression, but that terminology is actually kept out of the media so people can remain under the impression that they can achieve or maintain a stretch of economic stability. But let me explain something to a few of you…Anyone who thinks that everything should be focused on helping the people of Haiti opposed to using that same method on other countries including their own becomes coated in that same insult of ‘ignorance’ because there’s a very slim percentage of people who come across that way with such vigor that actually gave a damn about the country itself before the tragedy was presented.
But it isn’t necessarily your fault. In greater society (meaning percentage wise, mainstream, heavily emphasized dominant culture) – We are drenched in so much irrelevant media that we tend to blind ourselves and treat one another with less humanity when we start taking sides on movies, music, technology preferences and so on. We tend to forget the greater picture when it comes to things like this. Despite me being extremely glad that all of Haiti’s exposure has provoked such a rise out of you that you’d go as far to call me ‘pompous’ or ‘full of myself,’ you should also realize that also treading back to what I said before……
….You should apply that same energy into something constructive.
If we can’t donate money because we’re barely sliding by with how much we get paid under minimum wage, worse, or better…We can at least show more kindness and understanding towards one another.

Its SUCH a shame that this is better than the remake lmao
even though the first remake was for a worthy cause, this version shits on Justin Bbieber and ’em……..loves it!
OUTSTANDING!
much better than that celeb s*** fest!! why? they actually use peeps who can f****** sing here. pretty much the conclusion. the celeb version had real singers who participated in the chorus but werent given the chance to sing. instead they were overlooked with d***** bags of the day like Beiber et al.
This was so much better than that mess that Wyclef and those other folks made. Tell the truth and shame the devil! Y’all know that celebrity remake was s*****!
Its pretty sad that the Youtube community SHAT on that expensive mess of a remake. I got chills when Lisa Lavie did cyndi/celine’s part.
Lets save the REAL talent for those who have actual record deals or who are signed, shell we? LMAO!
abit overdramatic with some of those performances.
Hooray for all who sang in the video!!!
The mega star’s remake version pales in comparison with this one!!!
Amazin . Better than the remake for sure
Homeboy slayed at 6:01 – 6:16. I was like woooww! Great Video! I like this better than the other new version.
WHY BEYONCE NOT N DIS?
SMH
HATTAS EVERYEARE!
Omg, Lisa Lavie is so amazing. She can sing anything, even this hypocrite cause. 😀
FLOP ASS S*** NO ONE GIVES A F*** ABOUT THIS FLOP ASS WACK B******* LEAVE THE ORIGINAL ALONE
So much better than that HOT FLAMIN” MESS we had to listen before hand..
I thought it was wonderful, I wish I knew about it, I would have did a couple Mariah notes! lmbo!
oh yeah, better hope Jay z don’t make a comment about it…or else the rest of the world will hate it too…smh.
This is way better … great job everyone some very very nice voices out there waiting to be discovered……
OMGness, this is so much better than that terrible remake of a few weeks ago. Tony Bennett, Barbara Streisand, Jennifer Hudson and Celine Dion got some bad advice…
Wow! This version rocks and its much better then the – A&B&C lister( star-studded) version. The stars should have left it alone…They should release this version from youtube.
It’s sad that the youtube celebrities versions are better than the professionally produced 2010 celeb version!
I love this and lisalavie keeps cranking out them tunes. I don’t know all of the people on here but it’s so much better and much more in tune with the meaning and tone of the song than the new version. Amazing! They should make it a single if they ever could cause I would definitely buy it!!
With all the atrocities in the world and the horrows humans do to each other, it is heartwarming to see all the wonderful, giving sincere emotions our fantastic youth of the world is portraying. I am glad the world is being left in their hands. You go for it guys. You are fabulouse.

From San Juan PuertoRico I just want to said AWESOME AND BEAUTIFUL. GOD BLESS YOU.
This version was great to me because I was a young person when the original was produced and this was a great effort by raw talent. I believe Micheal would have been honored to see the results of this video. I am not sure what brought tears to my eyes while listening to this rendition of we are the world but I do know that it deserved every tear that fell.
Thank you young people for stepping up to the plate and sharing this version with the world. You did a fine job.
People stop being so selfish and thank God we have not had to ask for help at this magnitude. Lets truly make the decision to live as one.
We love it!
Great reason to remake a song.
