The legendary Whitney Houston answered back her critics by giving a solid show at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia yesterday. Earlier this week, Houston, 46, hit headlines worldwide when a handful disgruntled fans left her Brisbane, Australia show early, claiming her voice ‘wasn’t there’.
However, clearly much more disciplined with her vocal technique, the diva gave a rousing climatic performance of career definer ‘I Will Always Love You’; which, though not ‘perfect’, reinforced the fact that she should not be counted out – at all. Check it out below…

The thing about this tour is that she is dancing with her 4 guy dancers, running across the stage and singing 15-16 songs by the time she gets to iwaly. By this time, she’s too tired.
What she should do is move the song up in the set where she is not so tired to sing as this song is incredible difficult to sing at any point never mind after 16 songs.
She didn’t sound horrible, she has sounded better but my gosh, the Aussie press just won’t leave her alone.

I was at her Brisbane show and this is the performance she gave there. She stopped at 2:30 and wiped her sweat off at 2:36, this is undoubtedly the Brisbane performance, I’ve just gone back and had a look at my videos from the show. I think your sources are wrong on this one Sam!
Love the pause for dramatic effect. The audience went crazy and so did I as I watched. She’s an easy mark because she sings LIVE, but there never will be anyone like her. You look up legendary icon in the dictionary and there will be a picture of her.

It is a disgrace Andrew Mcmanus should attempt to fool Australian audiences whom are very critical of performers and not so accommodating when it comes to unsatisfactory talent. Andrew can give every excuse under the sun for Whitney’s sub standard performances but the fact remains audiences around Asia and Australia have made up their own minds. Whitney is breathless, off key, encounters pitch problems, encounters problems with placement of phrases, intonation issues and is singing from the ‘throat’ and not the diaphragm. This is what happens after years of substance abuse and smoking. The cheek of this woman for believing she can come to Australia and deliver a performance that is less than I have experienced in a Karaoke bar… Interestingly, Whitney is NOT touring America ! What does that say about her own ability… This woman has NO tour dates in USA. Maybe American audiences would be outraged and not forgiving at all. Whitney is a yesterday hero, a washed up ‘has been’ and should stick to taking drugs as clearly she has NOT recovered at all. This performance is sad… it’s sad that this is considered “much better” for Whitney Houston… while this performance was marginally better than her previous two performances in Australia… this is still, in the context of Whitney Houston, HORRIBLE. Whitney recentlu underwent surgery to get her nodules removed in 2007. Her voice is still really recovering. I don’t know what the hell arist was thinking to hav her to do a “world wide” tour like this? She is clearly not ready. She is an out of shape 46 year old woman going through menopause whose voice has obviously not recooperated fully from her 2007 surgery. She should have done a couple of concert venues like Mariah and should have stayed away from her earlier or past hits for now until her voice fully recooperates. But her singing and performing night after night like this is straining her voice further. If she does’nt stop and give her cords time to heal she may lose her voice outright? The people over at Arista should be ashamed of themselves. They are hungry for a dollar, while a vocally ill out of shape Whitney is struggling night after night with these endless concerts.
