With her upcoming ‘Pulse’ album ready to be released on May 4th, Toni Braxton has teamed up with an unexpected person on a new track from the LP. The song, ‘Caught (Don’t Take Your Hat Off)’, features none other than Golden Globe Award-winning actress Mo’Nique, who offered a touch of spoken-word comedy to the mellow track. Although I failed to get the humour in Mo’Nique’s contribution, there is no denying that this song is a stone groove winner. Vocally, Braxton displays the very best of her husky contralto without losing an ounce of her signature sex appeal. Certainly not a major contender for radio release but a strong album track nonetheless.
